Left a message and they called me back about 30 minutes later. Spoke with Trevon who said he lived in San Jose CA which he pronounced San joes. I got a lot of fun out of that. Kept up my usual silly chatter to keep him going. Told him the bank website was down, and so we couldn’t log in (I blocked the login screen so it wouldn’t even show up.) So he kindly gave me his direct number to call him on Monday.

Relatively short video (I was pressed for time) in which I blocked the login screen on a bank site and no matter what they did they couldn't find it. I think they got suspicious when I said the sheriff, my good friend, had come to visit.
Delightful. The guy called me back and continued to poke around the computer but had no clue what to do.

This poor sap was so used to staying on script that when things started to go wrong he was unable to adjust. Finally, abandoned Anydesk and moved to Teamviewer where they pulled up the ubiquitous refund form. They are certainly beginning to store them in some bizarre locations.
This was interesting. I called these guys a couple of times over two days faking a fire at the neighbors to see what would happen. The guy's only concern was to find out how much my (fictitious) bank account had in it. Note that they always claim to be unable to see the screen (a lie) so when I prevaricated about seeing the statement on my screen there's nothing he could say without revealing he had been lying.

Walmart order scam. They insist they can't see my screen so I can tell them whatever I want -- and do. And then encourage them to see my screen. I kept telling them of substantial deposits made and they have been calling me back a lot. I think I'll just tell them the bank told me it was a scam. LOL
An unusual connection. Called the AOL scammer # and guy said he needed to connect to my computer to figure out the password for Longstreet's (non-existent) email address. Being in Montana, we had the usual bad thunderstorm with lightning, etc. First time anyone has used zoho assist to connect to my VM and I had to scramble a bit to install it as I was using an interesting version of Arch Linux. RebornOS running in a VM with Xubuntu as the host. Always tricky getting the audio right when the scammer's audio is not good.

These idiots could not figure out why there was no longin option on either of my banks (I had suppressed it) and I was sure it must be their secure server causing all the problems (LOL).
I was trying something different, claiming I was traveling and therefore using a public college network. He dropped the call immediately, but at least I got about 18 minutes of their time. My dog yelling at the cat next door at the end kind of shortened things. I have been trying to call them back with no luck. I was running mabox linux with a windowsfx linux in a VM emulating a college network that wouldn't permit installation of any programs. This was interesting in that the scammer said he was in SE Asia. Usually, they always insist they are in the U.S. somewhere.
