Bitmap is closing in on total Blockout with the inscription count reaching over 700k! When we first began covering this new Ordinal standard, only a few hundred had been minted. Once all the existing blocks are inscribed which should happen within the next few days, new value mechanisms will need to be created in order for the ecosystem to move forward. We saw the same thing happen in the BRC20 space. When BRC20 standard was first introduced, mostly meme tokens were generated as a result. That saw some success for a short period of time, but in order for the market for these tokens on Ordinals to continue to grow, new innovations and developments will need to occur. What will that look like for Bitmap ecosystem? We have seen a few ideas come to the space already and discuss them here and introduce a couple of our own.

Several new projects are emerging in the crypto and web3 space that are working toward establishing better identity standards and reputation protocols. Together they will enable a new class of DeFi apps to emerge that can leverage a users history to determine worthiness when it comes to levels of access to the products and services being offered. This will greatly improve the maturity of the entire web3 financial sector as it will encourage users to act more responsibly with their borrowing and general behavior in the crypto economy as it will all be factored in to their future abilities to use DeFi.
