What happens when we go to our quiet place? We have encounters. The first encounter is with our Self. If we truly seek God's presence in solitude, we will encounter our true selves. It may or may not be pleasant, but it will always be truthful. Only through that naked encounter can we find true healing in the Lord.

When we want to take a journey, we usually worry about the logistics first. For example, we think about the cost, where we will stay, how will we travel, etc. But the journey never really begins unless we take the first step toward our destination. This is true also for our journey of faith. There must come a point wherein we will no longer worry about the spiritual logistics. For example, what does it mean to follow Jesus, how will I follow, what if I fail, etc? We will just take a step of faith toward actually believing and following Jesus together with others and leaving all other concerns to God. How do we do this?

Demotivation can be a symptom of various mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, or burnout. It can negatively impact a person’s overall well-being and functioning. Demotivation can lead to a lack of interest, energy, and motivation to engage in activities, including those that are essential for daily life. It can also affect productivity, relationships, and the overall quality of life. When we’re not motivated or concentrated, everything seems to be two or even three times harder. We need to understand demotivation and how to overcome it. There are three main causes of demotivation, and we can find in the Book of Psalms at least three passages that can help us overcome each of them.
1. Lack of Purpose (Psalm 138:8)
“The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”
O Diyos, mga pangako mo'y tinutupad mo ngang lahat, ang dahilan nito, Yahweh, pag-ibig mo'y di kukupas, at ang mga sinimulang gawain mo'y magaganap.
This verse expresses confidence in God’s faithfulness and His commitment to fulfilling His purpose for the individual. It acknowledges that God has a plan and that His steadfast love is enduring. This can provide reassurance and a sense of purpose, knowing that God is actively involved in guiding and fulfilling His intended purpose for our lives.
2. Lack of Praise (Psalm 18:20-24)
“The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me. For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I am not guilty of turning from my God. All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees. I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin. The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.”
In this Psalm, the writer acknowledges that God recognizes and rewards individuals according to their righteousness and faithfulness. It highlights the belief that God sees and acknowledges our actions and character, and that there is a sense of divine recognition and reward for those who stay faithful to God’s ways.
3. Lack of Peace (Psalm 27:1-3)
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”
This verse emphasizes the confidence and trust that comes from relying on the Lord as a source of strength and protection. It conveys the belief that even in the face of negativity, hostility, or enemies, one can find courage and overcome fear through the assurance of God’s presence and support.
Conclusion
1. Central Idea: "Our motivation must come from the Lord and His revelation."
2. Looking for motivation in ourselves or from other people will surely end up in frustration and demotivation. We must find our motivation in God's word, which is always reliable.
3. This week, immerse yourself in God's promises so that you can overcome demotivation.

Deliverance From Sin | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:1-14)
We have learned that, through Christ, grace overcomes sin and all its deadly effects. God replaces our spiritual death with the gift of eternal life in Christ. He also replaces our sinful state with the gift of righteousness, which is our new status before God. But these gifts can be quite abstract and difficult to understand. So, God does something very personal and real to us. Through our union with Christ in water baptism, God delivers us from the power of sin itself.

Day 3 of RLCC Daily Devo: Responding to God's Call
Scripture: Genesis 12:4-5
"So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan."
Reflection:
Abram's response to God's call is a remarkable example of obedience. At seventy-five, he left behind everything to follow God's direction, even taking his family and possessions with him. This act of obedience shows his unwavering faith.
Application:
God's call often requires us to leave behind the familiar and embark on a new journey. Like Abram, we should be willing to obey, even when it seems daunting. Trusting in God's guidance and stepping out in faith can lead to incredible blessings.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to respond to Your call with obedience and faith, just as Abram did. Give us the courage to leave behind what is comfortable and follow Your direction, knowing that You lead us to blessings beyond measure. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

22 This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you. 23 But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to visit you, 24 I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while. 25 Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the Lord’s people there. 26 For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem. 27 They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings. 28 So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this contribution, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way. 29 I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ. (Romans 15:22-29)
Many Christians today find themselves in the wrong situations because they do not listen to the Lord when they make plans. They just make plans and then they ask the Lord to bless their plans. Consequently, God gives them over to their plans, which they are already determined to do regardless of what God says. They do not receive God's guidance because they do not ask for it and they are not willing to listen to Him even if He gives it to them by His grace.

Main Idea: “We must listen to the Lord when we make plans.” (“Dapat makinig tayo sa Panginoon kapag tayo ay nagpaplano.”)
How should we make plans?
Three Considerations
1. Is your task from the Lord done already? (22-24)
2. Is the Lord directing you to a new task? (25-27)
3. Do you have consolation from the Lord to make changes? (28-29)

In His mercy, God gives us consolation for a time to strengthen us so that, when desolation comes, we will be ready to endure it. We need God's wisdom to face the various trials that come our way through the strength that God Himself provides.

Purpose of Prayer | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
What is our purpose when we pray? Is it simply to ask God for the things that we need? Is it just to intercede for the needs of others? If we don't understand the real purpose of prayer, we will either do it or not do it for the wrong reasons. If we're doing it for the wrong reasons, we will become self-righteous. If we're not doing it for the wrong reasons, we will only feel guilty and ashamed. Either way, we are missing out on the true purpose of prayer.

Disappointment in Life | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. 7 But they were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old. (Luke 1:5-7)
No one wants to experience disappointment. But they do happen and they happen all the time to everyone. The effects of any kind of disappointment vary widely depending on how we view it. Some may be challenged by it. They may try even harder to overcome and succeed. Others may become discouraged and they may give up altogether. Others may just accept it and surrender to the situation, going into "autopilot" for the rest of their lives. But, as followers of Christ, how should we view it?

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. 3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. 4 One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. 5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. 6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord. 7 Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. 8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. 9 Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. 10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. 11 Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. 12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. 13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:1-14)
There are many things that can make us afraid in this life. Aside from the uncertainties, there are also challenges that come our way. How we wish we can be confident! But often we are anxious and afraid because these things are bigger than us. We cannot control them. So we try our best to be self-confident, but in the end, such confidence is not enough.

How do you gain confidence in facing challenges?
Three Ways
1. Put your confidence in the Lord's power (vv.1-3).
2. Put your confidence in the Lord's presence (vv.4-6).
3. Put your confidence in the Lord's purpose (vv.7-14).
