I've used this programmer in a couple of videos now, so here's a formal demonstration / review. I'm by no means an expert on this subject, but as you can see, it's a powerful and low-cost tool to get started with BIOS/Firmware flashing!

Big, big, big thank you to all the support I've had from everyone - from the early days of recording on an iPhone 4s to the big May/June snowball. Thank you everyone. This is only the beginning.
There was a lot I wanted to say, but these videos are often the hardest to make.
I want to take this opportunity I have and make something of it. If I can maintain this momentum, and control a stable income from this channel's content, I want to use that to move into a bigger shop, get more equipment, do all the stuff that I keep saying 'I can't afford it' or 'I don't have the space'.

In this video we're looking at an Acer Swift with a busted cooling fan, but when dealing with a 'noisy fan' is very important to identify if the fan is busted, or just loud. I had another job after recording this video where the customer requested a replacement fan in their laptop, but when I inspected it, there was nothing wrong with the fan, the laptop was just running hot. Don't get caught out!

Most likely the last of my SSD upgrade videos, so if you're tired of seeing them then don't worry, we're about done!
Anyway - here's an iMac SSD upgrade!

Easy one that I spent far too long on today. I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure this PC is one of those "bought on FB marketplace" jobs, and was advertised as just "Intel i7 3.8GHz" with no mention that it's actually a Q1'11 CPU.
Spoilers below...
It was a bad RAM stick. Other one was fine. Mobo was cheap and nasty - but it works.

I needed to replace the keyboard on this HP 14-bk series, and I knew it was going to be a nasty heat-staked job, but this one was a real griefer. Got it done though. I wouldn't say this video is a walk-through, but perhaps more of a warning on how heat-staked keyboards can be such a nightmare.

In today's HTL segment we're taking to simple widgets - a novelty keychain and an electronic scales kit - and converting them to run on Lipo cells. The keychain accepts a very wide voltage range and so it doesn't need any regulation, we can just cram a tiny cell with a charger board into it. The scales, however, need a reliable 5v input - so we'll use a powerbank controller to manage a regulated 5v supply and charge in one unit.

So we know that SSDs are fast. But why are they fast? What do megs per second numbers mean, and why don't we see the advertised number all the time? Settle down and prepare to learn about Sequential vs. 4k operations!
