Alligator (1980) Movie Review
The second review for today/tonight as My Journey Into the 1980s Continues!
Alligator is a 1980 American horror film, directed by Lewis Teague with a screenplay by John Sayles.
It stars Robert Forster, Robin Riker, and Michael V. Gazzo. It also includes an appearance by actress Sue Lyon in her last screen role to date.
Set in Chicago, the film follows a police officer and a reptile expert to track a giant murderous Sewer alligator, flushed down the toilet years earlier that is attacking residents after escaping from the sewers.
The film received praise from critics for its intentional satirizing.
An apparent sequel was released in 1991, titled Alligator II: The Mutation. Despite the title, this film shared no characters or actors with the original, and the plot was essentially a retread of the first film.
A board game based on the movie was distributed by the Ideal Toy Company in 1980.

This time I talk about the Criminally Underrated film starring the Dice Man. Easily one of my all time favorite comedies.
The Adventures of Ford Fairlane is a 1990 American action comedy directed by Renny Harlin and written by David Arnott, James Cappe, and Daniel Waters based on a story by Arnott and Cappe.
The film stars comedian Andrew Dice Clay as the title character, Ford Fairlane, a "Rock n' Roll Detective", whose beat is the music industry in Los Angeles. True to his name, Ford drives a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner in the film.
The film's main character was created by writer Rex Weiner in a series of stories that were published as weekly serials in 1979–80 by the New York Rocker and the LA Weekly.
The film was both a commercial and critical failure, grossing a little more than half its budget and "winning" the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Picture, tying with Bo Derek's Ghosts Can't Do It. However, it has since developed a cult following.

Enemies Closer is a 2013 Canadian/American action thriller film directed Peter Hyams and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Tom Everett Scott, and Orlando Jones.
Scott portrays a former Navy SEAL who is forced to work with a vengeful man trying to kill him (Jones) in order to stop a ruthless criminal, played by Van Damme. It is Hyams' third directorial collaboration with Van Damme, following 1994's Timecop and 1995's Sudden Death, and the first to feature him in a villainous role.

Mosquito is a 1995 science fiction film directed by Gary Jones.
The film's plot pays homage to the classic 1950s horror genre. The film co-stars Gunnar Hansen who played the character Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Ron Asheton, lead guitarist for the proto-punk rock band The Stooges, also co-stars.
After a long run on the USA Network, Mosquito was picked up by the channel SyFy. The film's classic b-movie dialogue, special effects that range from great to really bad, and eye popping gore have earned it a cult following.
