Making a Maple Scarf Joint Neck for my Acoustic Guitar | Building an Acoustic Guitar
With the body complete, I'm now ready to begin making the neck for my acoustic guitar. Since the back and sides are maple, I decided to make the neck from maple as well. I'm using hard maple for the neck shaft and bookmatched elm for the headplate. I used a 14 degree angle for the headstock and inlaid a small elm oval with the Hayley Guitars logo. The logo is surrounded by some maple purfling to match the body. There's still a ways to go, but I feel this is a great start to this neck. In the next episode of this build, I'll be cutting the mortise and tenon and making the fretboard. Stay tuned.
