Before this, I posted a video of the whole show, so you can watch that if you want to see the acts I'm making fun of. This post is just my segment at the end of the show. Dec 29, 2020: I hadn't gone over my stand-up comedy notes in a couple of weeks. But I felt I shouldn't miss a chance to perform. So I thought of an idea: Watch the other comedians and then make jokes about them. I saw a woman do that at a Yuk Yuk's open mic in Ottawa last month, and a guy doing it at the Eddy's Diner open mic a few months ago. So at the beginning of the show, I asked the host if I could do that, and he said yes. (He's also the assistant teacher in the stand-up classes I take on Zoom.) It went well! All the comics laughed at my roast. A guy at the end specifically mentioned I was hilarious. And even on Facebook later, the page for the classes commented: "I saw your roast!" Oct 11: @cbcdavid from @cbcnews was covering @elizabethemay’s press conference at @angela_ottawacentre’s HQ. I got there after it was done, because I was up late singing to Elizabeth the night before. But Angela’s campaign manager Nira told David about my song and his cameraman filmed me singing it! I was tired, but love gave me the strength! ? The story: On Oct 10, I wrote a song asking @elizabethemay, leader of the @greenpartyofcanadaofficial, to leave her husband for me. Later that day, I sang it in person for her ar @thehph. ? Message for Liz: In #elxn41, I wrote a love song for you, about you not being allowed in debates. Now in #exln43 there's a bigger issue: You married @john.kidder.mmfc! So I wrote new lyrics, asking you to leave him for me. ? More details: On Oct 10, I wrote new lyrics to my love song for Elizabeth May that was featured in the news during the 2011 election. This election, I’m the #Thornhill candidate. A team for @angela_ottawacentre was making campaign music in a backyard and I wrote the lyrics in their shed and a few minutes later they filmed me trying my song. And they wanted me to play it for Liz that night when she visited the Hintonberg campaign office after the leaders debate. Which I did, as you can see in this video.
