I sing the mighty pow’r of God, that made the mountains rise,
That spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies.
I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at His command, and all the stars obey.
I sing the goodness of the Lord, who filled the earth with food,
Who formed the creatures through the Word, and then pronounced them good.
Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed, where’er I turn my eye,
If I survey the ground I tread, or gaze upon the sky.
There’s not a plant or flow’r below, but makes Thy glories known,
And clouds arise, and tempests blow, by order from Thy throne;
While all that borrows life from Thee is ever in Thy care;
And everywhere that we can be, Thou, God, art present there.

I speak of the Shame of a Nation. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
We are a nation that should be ashamed. A godless land. Sin is a reproach. Sin perverts and pollutes a people.
The book of Proverbs contrasts righteousness and sin. It talks a lot about wisdom and foolishness. There’s two paths we can take. The wise way and the foolish way. Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. We can choose wisdom, or we can choose folly.
Australia is rotten. A cesspool of sin. We are a nation of fools. At the heart of our folly is unbelief. This is our nation’s shame. Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
Here is the fool, defined. He does not seek God. He denies God.
It seems most people care little for what is moral and right. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Children are being routinely killed in their mothers’ wombs. People see this somehow as a good thing. A sign of progress.
Minds are filled up with brain-scrambling music, full of obscenities and cursing. Shame, Australia, shame. There’s a deliberate decay, a breakdown of the home and of decency. A fouling up of what is pure and wholesome.
All the while the evidence is staring them in their face and they deny Him. …they are without excuse…
We’re being dumbed down, and desensitised. Debased. And of course there’s confusion everywhere. Masculine women. Effeminate men. The average Aussie cares little for truth.
Surely, it seems, God's hand is writing on the wall. Is there any hope? Yes, thankfully. There is.
The Bible shows us that real wisdom comes from God. For those who will seek it.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. God is the starting point in the search for true wisdom. Wisdom starts with God.
We have an urgent need of reprogramming. We need a mindshift to right thinking. It’s going to take applied truth. Proverbs 23:12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
Wisdom comes from God. And He wants us to have it. Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Wisdom STARTS WITH knowing God.
A companion of fools shall be destroyed. Are you bound for the Celestial City or the City of Destruction? If you’re headed for destruction I would urge you: "Get off the Bus." Proverbs 4:14. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
The majority take the crowded road that leads to destruction. We have to take the road less travelled. Exodus 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil…
True wisdom starts by listening to God. Proverbs 1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: The wise will listen. They are willing to learn.
The fear of God is a fountain of life. Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
The wise can know true joy. God gives it.
The wise will control their tongue; their temper.
The wise will be diligent in their work.
The wise will look after their health.
The wise will be honest.
The wise will heed God’s counsels.
Proverbs 4:5-9 Get wisdom, get understanding… Wisdom is something we can actually have. We can ASK God for wisdom… James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Wisdom brings discernment… so we can know the true from the false. True wisdom is to know God, by faith.
The backslider is filled with folly. Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways… O the folly of those who neglect their soul!
The fool neglects their spiritual life. They do not care about the fear of God. We must realise our need of spiritual life.
The awful truth is that most will come to the end of their earthly journey and have to say: “I am not saved.” Jeremiah 8:20 - “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and WE ARE NOT SAVED.”
The greatest folly of all is to not be saved. The folly of unbelief. The folly of backsliding.
Realise the folly, the shame, of a God rejecting life.
The heart reason a man is a fool is because he has rejected God. It is pride. Unbelief has a foolishness to it. It is destruction. Damnation.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
The key message of Proverbs is “Get wisdom or act and look like a fool!”

Ex-Pentecostal Pastor addresses: what is “speaking in tongues” according to the Bible?
Our FOUNDATION must be the Bible - the sure Word of God, not subjective experience. That which is Perfect is come. The Word regulates a proper use of tongues – always to be interpreted, only one person at a time, and no women were to speak. The modern tongues movement disobeys all this.
Pentecostals teach a FILLING – that to be “baptised with the Spirit” we must “speak with tongues”. The BIBLE teaches that " by one Spirit are we ALL baptised into one Body". Clearly all DO NOT speak with tongues - 1 Cor. 12:30. Of the 16 Bible references to "Spirit filling" tongues is mentioned only once.
What is our FOCUS? It is easy to focus on Experience, Extra-Biblical Revelation, or Signs and Wonders and Manifestations. Yet the Spirit’s work is to glorify Christ. Charismatics place an UNbiblical priority on tongues. Tongues are only mentioned in Mark, Acts, and 1 Corinthians. Acts only gives 3 instances of tongues.
Tongues are FOREIGN LANGUAGES. Acts 2 records that they are known languages and dialects. It wasn’t gibberish, like the babble of today’s “tongues”.
Tongues have a God given purpose – and a FULFILMENT. In Acts 2:4 tongues were unlearned, known languages which could be understood by Jews present. In Acts 10 they were a confirming sign of the Gospel message, showing the equality of Gentile believers with Jews, by faith. In Acts 19 tongues confirmed the truth of the message and that believers of every background are equal by faith.
Tongues was a SIGN - that God had brought the Spirit, and the Church was born: Gentiles and Jews together would be one body in Christ. The Spirit confirms this - to four distinct groups: Jewish believers (Acts 2), Samaritan believers (8:17), Gentile believers (10:45-46), and the disciples of John the Baptist (19: 1-6).
Tongues was specifically a sign to UNbelievers… As per 1 Corinthians 1:22, the Jews require a sign. It was a rebuke against unbelieving Jews. Tongues is symbolic of JUDGMENT - as at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:7).
Isaiah 28:11--"For with stammering lips and another TONGUE will he speak to this people." God’s sign was FULFILLED. In 1 Corinthians 14:21-22--"In the law it is written, With men of other TONGUES and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. Wherefore TONGUES are for a SIGN, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not..."
God rebuked unbelieving Israel. The foreign tongues of Pentecost was God's sign to Israel that they were rejected and the Gospel was now to go to the Gentiles in their tongues. God had set Israel aside because of their unbelief and had begun a new work with the Gentiles. The Sign was

A communion word - The Lord's Supper. Imagine you are there.
He is WITH YOU. Luke 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. (15) And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
He wants to be with you. He is Emmanuel; God with us.
He is with you, right now, as you are seated around the table with Him.
He knows that He is about to suffer. To suffer, for you, because of you.
It is Passover time - The Lord wants to be with you, His disciples. He wants to eat with you. And every bit of the meal is a sign of His bitter death - for you.
As you gather with Him around the table, it’s a reminder of where we once were - as His people - in Slavery. By the Passover - you give thanks with Him for how God delivered His people Israel from their slavery in Egypt.
Your Lord wants to be with you, to commune with you. He wants your thankfulness.
Sin is like an enslavement – the Lord shows how you can be delivered from the slavery of sin – it is really by His Body and Blood.
Sin is real. And it’s present even at the table. A betrayer is there – even as you eat together. It is a shock as the Lord announces – that one eating with you will betray Him. It is not I, Lord, you say. One whose feet He washed and dried is to hand Him over to His death. One will betray the Lord.
Yet, even on this dread night, as sin would betray Him, He says to you, His disciples, how He wants to be with you.
Really all will deny and desert Him. They all lacked loyalty when the tests came.
He speaks UNTO YOU.
(16) For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. (17) And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: (18) For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
He speaks unto you. Will you hear His voice?
He knows He is about to die. The cross is just a few short hours away.
He says, I say unto you. All of this has meaning. It is something that He speaks unto you. He wants you to hear Him.
He says, this is the last time He is going eat with you like this.
His saving message is unto you. Each of you need His grace. You must examine your own self.
Judas is here at the table – he is taking part in an unworthy manner – guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord… guilty of eating and drinking damnation to himself. Not discerning the Lord’s body.
What about you? Do you know Who He is?

1 To the regions beyond I must go, I must go
Where the story has never been told;
To the millions that never have heard of His love,
I must tell the sweet story of old.
Chorus:
To the regions beyond I must go, I must go,
Till the world, all the world,
His salvation shall know.
2 To the hardest of places He calls me to go,
Never thinking of comfort or ease;
The world may pronounce me a dreamer, a fool,
Enough if the Master I please. (Chorus)
3 Oh, you that are spending your leisure and pow'rs
In those pleasures so foolish and fond;
Awake from your selfishness, folly and sin,
And go to the regions beyond. (Chorus)
4 There are other “lost sheep” that the Master must bring,
And to them must the message be told;
He sends me to gather them out of all lands,
And welcome them back to His fold. (Chorus)

1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine. [Refrain]
3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend! [Refrain]
4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee. [Refrain]
