There is a dimension of prayer that goes beyond words to a simple, loving presence. This is called contemplation. Contemplation is a form of prayer that goes beyond words to the loving presence of God. It allows us to connect with Him in a profound and sacred way, experiencing unity and oneness with Him. In this state, we let go of our thoughts and desires and surrender to the whispers of God, allowing love and grace to flow to us and through us from Him.
In His mercy, God gives us consolation for a time to strengthen us so that, when desolation comes, we will be ready to endure it. We need God's wisdom to face the various trials that come our way through the strength that God Himself provides.

Grace is just a prayer away! This is so true. Yet, many Christians fail to experience grace because they fail to pray. But how can we pray when we are so busy? How do we overcome our busyness? Well, we need God's grace to overcome our busyness! So, we're caught in this perpetual cycle of constantly trying and constantly failing to pray. What is the solution? The solution is to learn how to pray as Jesus and the apostles did. Through their example, we can see three ways that they prayed, which we can also imitate.

When some thought seems good at first, especially if there is some cause associated with it, even if it is good, don't quickly assume it is from God. It's important to understand this principle.

46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” (Luke 6:46-49)
Whether we like it or not, we are building our lives through every choice that we make. Many people are foolishly building their lives toward future catastrophes without even knowing it. By rejecting the claims of Christ right now, they are unknowingly setting up themselves for future failure. But is there another choice? Of course! By obeying Christ today and every day, we can build our lives wisely toward the future.

Main Idea: “Obeying Jesus now is the wisest decision for the future.” (“Ang sumunod kay Jesus ngayon ang pinakamatalinong desisyon para sa kinabukasan.”)
Why should we obey Jesus today and every day?
Three Important Reasons
1. Obedience is a choice (v.46).
2. Obedience has consequences (vv.47-49).
3. Obedience is a confirmation (based on the context).

43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (Luke 6:43-45)
We all want to change to become better people. But often we do it in the wrong way. We start by changing behavior. We do this to ourselves as well as to others. In psychology, this is called a behavioral modification. We use techniques and strategies to change behavior so that people will become better. Although there is some good to it, by itself it will not be effective in the long run. People have to be transformed from the inside out.

Main Idea: True transformation begins in our hearts. (Ang tunay na pagbabago ay nag-uumpisa sa puso natin.)
What are the principles of transformation?
Three Principles
1. Who we are determines our behavior (v.43).
2. Our behavior reveals who we are (v.44).
3. Who we are is hidden but eventually revealed (v.45).

The Means to Go Back | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
It's crucial to always remember the death of Christ on the cross. Thankfully, because we are predominantly a Christian nation, we are reminded of this once a year. But through the years, many people, even Christians, are no longer interested to remember this very important event. They would rather use this occasion to do other things. Of course, there is nothing wrong with doing other things. But if doing other things results in forgetting the significance of the death of Christ on the cross, then maybe we need to pause and consider that.
Join us for our Good Friday Online Worship Celebration as we remember the true meaning of the Cross. We will also have our Lord's Supper so please prepare your communion elements (bread and juice).

Focusing when reading or meditating on God's word is essential. The Bible has the power to transform our lives and shape our characters. However, this transformative process requires intentional reflection and application of its teachings. Focusing allows us to internalize, contemplate, and align our lives with the principles found in Scripture. The goal is not just reading the word of God but listening to God. How then do we read the word of God in order to hear the Lord?

25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. 27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” 28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. (Romans 11:25-32)
It's easy to get frustrated when we are trying to reach people for Christ. We are doing everything we can to win them but it seems like they continue to refuse the Gospel. This can easily lead to carnal attitudes on our part. We need to understand God's mysterious work in people's lives so that we will not give up. The Lord is working in ways that may not seem obvious to us. But He is still at work. We only need to trust in Him.

Main Idea: “We must trust God with humility that He is working mysteriously.” (“Dapat magtiwala sa Diyos nang may pagpapakumbaba na Siya ay gumagawa nang mahiwaga.”)
What is God doing mysteriously that we need to trust?
Two Mysterious Works
1. He is working in those who are hardened (25-27).
2. He is working in those who are disobedient (28-32).

Day 5: A Prayer for Focused Faith
Let's close this week in prayer, seeking God's grace for focused faith. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the lessons from Abraham's journey. We confess that distractions and emotions often pull us away from your purpose. Today, we ask for the strength to prioritize your instructions, trust in your provisions, and listen to your directions. Help us stay focused on your mission amidst life's challenges and temptations. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
