I wrote this song as a call to unity, for the world to pull together, for we are nowhere and nobody without each other. But together we can not only survive, but flourish, even to the end.

This pandemic forced many of us to look within and take stock of who we are, what we have done, and where we are going. In that process, I have become acutely aware of how many of us, myself included, suffer from self-esteem issues driven by negating narratives manifesting in false dichotomies and erroneous beliefs. These have robbed us of our power and vitality and made us mentally, emotionally and physically ill.
The Baha'i Faith teaches that we have all been created noble and rich. Our Creator loved us eternities before we came into being. We have unlimited potential to acquire and manifest, if we so choose, every divine attribute of our Creator.
I wrote this song in response to a lingering line I heard very clearly in my mind one morning upon awakening from a dream: "When will we awaken to the magnificence of the beauty that we are?" And so I wrote this song around that.
I dedicate it to all who suffer from the dark reflections of a false self-image and the relentless, debilitating inner dialogues that keep us down and helpless.
The song simply asks, "When..."
It's for you to decide the time.
Enjoy.

Keskeny Ferenc and his gypsy band came over from Hungary for a special engagement at the Hungarian Cultural center in Victoria and gave a standing ovation performance to a full house. From an entire evening of superb entertainment, I chose this piece because it is a master violinist's pride and joy to play.

This is one of the first songs I wrote back in 1967 when I first came across the Bahá'í Faith and its teachings about love, unity and world peace. It is a simple song of my simple youth when I was idealistic, which I still am, and gilled with hope for a bright future.
