How To Change Purge Solenoid 2016 Jeep Patriot Purge, part 2 of the throttle body failure series.
This is the second video of a series regarding the failure of a 2016 jeep patriot sport.
The earlier video outlined the issues faced after changing the throttlebody unit.
Throttlebody unit is a common point of failure in Chrysler products.
The initial codes pointed only to the throttlebody and the throttle actuation control. That unit was swapped out and a new code emerged.
Code P2173 is a common code for a vacuum leak. Having tested the system and found no obvious leaks the decision was made to change the solenoid purge valve.
This video outlines how to change the purge valve solenoid.

Changing this item had no affect on the original P 2173 code and generated a new code P0507.
I guess it’s off to the stealership!
