Hello, thank you for viewing this video. This is a song I only rediscovered yesterday, after almost 39 years, contained in one of the "Lost Lyrics" box files. I have made a recital version of it (it is in "Lost Lyrics - Part 25"), but it was such a strong lyric, I really wanted to make it a full song. 00:00 Intro 01:10 'So Away It All Goes' I kind of like the way the song is structured, in that it starts during the story, like when you walk into a room and there is something going down in there, an arguement, a frisson, and you're not sure what it is, or who and how it started. By the time the third verse comes around, the 'view' pans back, to show it is about low self-esteem relationships, rebound relationships, bad-deal-better-than-no-deal relationships. We've all been in one, and hopefully, we've all got out of them, relatively unscathed. So, here, some 3 decades on, I have put music to it. This is Take 2, of 3 takes, or to be slightly pedantic/specific, 3 versions, since I adjusted the music and metre slightly on all 3, if you wish to check them out they are 1645 and 1646. It didn't come off too bad, except I started to come in on verse 2 too early. Musicians might enjoy how the changes do not come where you might expect them to, for instance, sometimes on the A-minor it hangs and instead of changing, suspends, then unsuspends, and then, to the E-minor. Due to the nature of the lyric, I kind of wanted to score it, like a soundtrack, louder/softer/change/hold. There is 1 more video featuring this same take of song (1645), which is from an alternate camera, and that one has a different sound mix to this.
