This past Saturday, October 28, hockey player Adam Johnson had his neck fatally slashed by the ice skate of opposing player Matt Petgrave. The event was captured on video, which we'll share in today's show. CAUTION: The video shows the infliction of a fatal injury. The legal questions then arise: First, was this an intentional use of force by Petgrave on Johnson? Second, if intentional, would this killing be murder, manslaughter, or negligent homicide? These questions require both a legal and factual analysis in order to arrive at a reasoned answer, and we'll tackle both of those in the context of the video of the event in today's show. Two days ago the defense team for Daniel Perry, found guilty this past Friday for the murder of Garrett Foster, filed a motion for a new trial.
