In this episode of Helix Amps Revisited, I look at the Mandarin Rocker which is a model of the dirty channel of the Orange Rockerverb 100 MKIII. In this video I take my son's Line 6 Spider V 20 MKii amplifier and compare it to my Line 6 Helix and see if I can get a tone out of it that can hang with the much more expensive Helix. I thought it would be fun to have Tyler help me out to set a blind test, just for fun, to see the tones compare. In a few days we will reveal the results of which tone is which. In this video I answer a question that I am asked a lot, what is the difference between the Master control and the Drive control on our Helix amp models? This can be a point of confusion for some users, but when we do understand how each of these controls contribute to the final sound of our preset, once we master using them, we just may get better final results. After receiving my Yamaha Silent guitars last week, I had a number of requests to do a Dialing In... video using the Helix to process the sound of the Silent guitar. SO, first up is the nylon string version. I have always enjoyed the song Saint Agnes and The Burning Train by Sting from his The Soul Cages album. I figured I would use that as a performance video and show in this video how I created the track using nothing but the nylon string Silent guitar and the Helix/Native.
