The main reason for this is that we have been fed the mis-information that all you need to do is exercise longer and harder to lose weight and if you don’t then you just didn’t try hard enough, when in reality what you eat does and we are being led down the garden path by the food industry in order to get us to keep buying their processed foods and keep making them profit.
What you eat and how frequently plays a major role in weight loss and the foods that cause the biggest problems and as such weight gain are all the different types of sugars, flours, and vegetable oils/margarine. Processed foods are full of these and their also designed to be addictive so you over eat and make them big profits.
We are constantly bombarded by processed foods marketing to make us buy more and more and we are hardwired to eat when there is food around or when we are in groups and if we’re eating processed foods then it also easy to over eat as they are designed to turn off your ability to tell if you are full or not.
The other thing that makes it hard is that we are led to believe by marketing and the health industry that losing weight is hard and complicated. Most people are followers and will generally do whatever it takes to fit in, so other people are eating so crap then we are also likely to. Your immediate peer group has a big impact on this.

I’ve been Keto for 5–10yrs now and so my carb intake has minimal to zero and yet I’ve never felt healthier or more alive, my brain fog is completely gone.
When I do eat carbs which is extremely rare I notice my body come out of ketosis as my energy and vitality levels drop a lot and also when I go back into ketosis my body comes alive.
Fats are extremely important as all your hormones and cholesterol’s are made from this. Your brain is mostly fat and every cell in your body is made of proteins and fats. The Standard American Diet is deficient in good quality fats.
As for fuel since I’ve been keto so burning fat for fuel instead of glucose my energy levels are always high and stable and I feel much happier and more alive like a teenager.
So with carbs my body has thrived to a level I did not think it was possible and now I’m no longer chasing each meal as I used to do when I eat carbs.
