President Rodrigo Duterte threatened on January 6 to arrest 'unvaccinated' people if they refuse to follow stay-at-home orders. Local government units in Metro Manila already banned the entry of unvaccinated in malls, restaurants and public transportation. Unvaccinated/ 'partially' vaccinated individuals should stay home except to get essential goods and services such as food, water, medicine or medical devices, public utilities, work, and medical and dental visits. Protesters expressed their disagreement over the new policy. The government should instead promote measures to stimulate the immune system such as fresh air, sunlight and healthy food. especially vitamins, and preventive medicine like “ivermectin.” The Philippines Department of Health (DOH) however is not recommending it as it is “not proven to significantly reduce mortality nor to improve other clinical outcomes.” Protesters also pointed to the fact that nowhere has a Covid-19 virus been isolated in vivo only on computer and that there has been no extra deaths.
