Hey guys, Joe Burnich here. I just want to say thank you for joining the Big West Academy. I know this is going to take your business to the next level if you follow everything I'm about to teach you. Like I said, before you bought this, that this is easy to understand. I break it down into plain English. And what I did is I had 20 people on a live training, and that's what you're going to see here. You're going to see all the recordings. I took them and I edited them up, put them into little bite-size videos so that you can follow along step-by-step. So before you jump in and you start looking at the videos, I want you to click on the link below. And what happens when you do that is you're going to download the slide show. This is the official slide show that I used when I created this course and when I did the live session, and this is going to have everything we talk about. It's going to have step-by-step so you can follow along.
What I would do is I would print this out. I know it's 62 pages and that can be a lot of ink out of your printer, but I think it's going to be worth it if you're serious about your business, if you're serious about ranking on Google, making the phone ring and taking it to the next level. And you'll see here that this has everything that we talk about, all the screenshots, all the checklists, all the cheat sheets, everything you're going to need to do this right. Okay. So download that first. Once you've downloaded it, I'd like you to start at the first video and work your way down. So you're going to start out at what is local SEO, the difference between just national SEO or normal SEO, and then local SEO and how it differs and how it's specific to your business.
We're going to get into how you do Google My Business done right. People do Google My Business wrong all the time. If you follow this video, I'm going to show you exactly how we do it. You can follow step-by-step. And like I said, I'm going to give you a checklist in there. Then, we're going to talk about the importance of your address. A lot of people will get suspended because they try to play games with the address. Don't worry. You can still rank in multiple locations on Google. That's going to be in the bonus video below, but what I want to do first is give you a solid foundation on how the address works for your business. We're going to talk about how to report shady competitors. You probably have competitors out there that are breaking all kinds of Google guidelines. We're going to show you step-by-step how to report them. So don't miss this video.
We're going to talk about citations. This is where I break down some of the stuff that seems techie and difficult to understand. I break that down into plain English so you can understand. Same thing with backlinks. I called this video, backlinks for dummies. And then we're going to talk about websites, little things you can do your website to increase conversions and increase rankings. This is stuff that you can have your web designer do today and start benefiting tomorrow. This is instant stuff. This is instant gratification guys. And then of course, I'm going to talk about how to outsource everything. So once we get a foundation and we understand how all this stuff works, I'm going to show you how we outsource to overseas workers that'll work for five to $10 an hour, how you can do the same thing so you don't need to hire an agency that... this is for people that are on a budget. This is for people that want to do it on a budget and do it themselves, but then it also can outsource pieces of it so that you don't have to be sitting behind a computer all the time.
Once you learn this stuff, you learn how to outsource it so that you don't have to do any of the work yourself. We have a final Q&A that we did where a lot of real business owners start asking real questions, specific stuff. This is where we dig in and get into the nitty gritty of some of the problems that you're going to face and how to overcome them. Of course, the bonuses are if you've got Google My Business suspensions, this is the video that's going to be on that. This one's going to be a longer video. It's more windy. One of the first things that you need to make sure you have on your website is your telephone number. It should be large so that people can see it easily. It should not be tucked away on a “Contact Us” page or displayed in a tiny font at the bottom of one of your web pages.
You also want to make sure that your website is responsive, or mobile-friendly. It should be readable and attractive to look at on all types of devices - desktop computers, smartphones, ipads, or other types of tablets. Having a mobile friendly website will ensure that anyone who visits your site can learn more about what you have to offer.
Choosing a website style that complements your business will also help you with sales. There are many different styles that you can choose from. Make sure that the style you choose helps to build trust with your customer.
Client testimonials and reviews are tools you can use to build trust with new customers. Everyone likes to hear from a satisfied customer. Your website should have a special page dedicated to highlighting some of your client’s testimonials. You can also have a few testimonials or reviews distributed throughout your website.
You should also have a contact form and an email newsletter form on your site. If you offer a free estimate or a free consultation, you can put this information on your contact form. If you have an email newsletter you should make sure that it is easy for people to subscribe to it. Make sure your subscribe button is nice and large so that potential customers can see it easily.

Mobile Optimization Is Expected To Continue Growing In 2015
Those companies that still haven't updated their website to be optimized for mobile browsing stand to lose out on all the amazing opportunities in improving their positioning on the search engine results pages.
Four out of five US consumers are using their smart phones in order to shop on the Web. 2014 saw desktop computer usage being overtaken by mobile browsing. It is expected that the numbers and usage of mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones will continue to grow in the future. Few things will be more important than mobile design in 2018.
In order to properly optimize your websites, responsive pages need to load very quickly on mobile devices. In any field of search engine optimization, the visitor's experience on the page is of paramount importance. The longer a page takes to load, the more likely the visitor is to abandon the page.
Keyword Focus is in Decline
Online content writing revolved around keywords in the past but things have changed now and they continue to lose significance. Over time, they have been losing more and more of their significance in SEO.

Written content is still the main part of a website, but video starts to increase in popularity as well.
The average Internet user has a fairly short attention span. This is the reason people enjoy graphics with info, videos, and other forms of visual media.
Another way to boost engagement is to provide multimedia content. An additional bonus to this type of content is that it can easily be shared, possibly becoming viral. Social media accounts that are linked offer the fastest way to share videos. Because likes and shares on social media sites have an impact on search engine rankings, incorporating multimedia content is a powerful optimization tactic.
2018 is an excellent year to push multimedia features into the limelight and incorporate them into overall optimization and marketing strategies. By doing so, rankings in the search engines will improve and in turn this produces more traffic.
The way that high search engine rankings are drifting towards sites with an organic blend of quality content and positive visitor experience is a good thing. The websites that perform the best in 2018 will be those that provide visitors with what they were looking for and what they want. More and more people will use the internet to search about information. A successful SEO campaign will utilize this need for information and build an online reputation around giving people the answers they need.

Many people are concerned that if they get a new website their Google Rankings will drop. This is a valid concern because this does happen frequently. There are three things that every business owner (and web designer) MUST understand when it comes to SEO and building a new website.

The 3 BIG Things:
1. Try to match your text or content has closely as possible. I recommend that at the very least it has a similar words and topics, but if you can copy it over word-for-word then that is ideal.
2. You must also match the Title Tags (aka Meta Tags) as closely as possible on every page, not just the Home page. The method for changing Title Tags varies from platform to platform.
3. Finally, you need to match the website address URLs on every page of the website. If you can’t do this then you will need to redirect old pages from Google’s index to the new page addresses. This can get a little complicated, but any competent web designer should understand this.
You can check which pages are in the Google Index by going to Google.com and entering site:yourwebsite.com into the search box.
