Understanding the importance of being a disciple of Jesus Christ is vital for Christians. It goes beyond mere belief and involves actively following and emulating Jesus’ teachings and example. By prioritizing the word of God in their lives, Christians can deepen their relationship with Jesus, find guidance in decision-making, and fulfill their purpose as disciples.
Praising God in Worship | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. (Psalm 9:1-2)
When something becomes familiar to us, it can easily become meaningless. We go into a routine that sometimes becomes shallow. This is especially true when it comes to our worship of God. Since we do it every Sunday, the act of worship can easily become just a weekly routine. Others simply disregard the time for praising God as unimportant in worship. They just want to listen to the sermon instead. Consequently, they miss out something very important in their relationship with God. They remain shallow. We need to learn how to deepen our relationship with God through praising Him in worship.

True Forgiveness Through Jesus | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” 21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.” (Luke 5:17-26)
Sin disintegrates and paralyzes our whole being. It creates guilt and shame. We carry them each day and they are such heavy burdens on our souls. This is the reason why we need true forgiveness. True forgiveness is found only in Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him, we can be released from our sins.

Good morning, everyone! The title of Day 1 of RLCC Daily Devo is: "The Temptation to Rely On Ourselves"
Our Scripture passage is: Genesis 16:1-16
Meditation: Abram and Sarai were tempted to rely on themselves when it seemed that God was taking too long to fulfill His promise. It had been eleven years, and they thought they could help God hasten the process. Similarly, we deviate from our mission when we take matters into our own hands. Thankfully, God is faithful even when we are unfaithful.
Personal Application: Take a moment to consider instances when impatience led you to rely on yourself rather than God's timing. Choose to trust in His perfect plan and remain faithful even when it feels like His promises are delayed.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge moments of impatience and self-reliance in my life. Please forgive me for these lapses in faith. Grant me the patience to trust in Your timing and the unwavering faith to stay on track with Your mission. In Jesus' name, amen.

God creates us for relationships. But not all relationships are good for us. Some of them are detrimental to our spiritual lives and can harm us or make us ineffective and unproductive. Ironically, the detrimental relationships that the Bible warns us about are not with regard to unbelievers or the people in the world. The apostle Paul says in 1 Cor 5:9-10, "I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case, you would have to leave this world." The Bible warns us to watch out against certain types of believers within the church that can negatively influence us.

Accepting One Another | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
7 Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. 8 Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, 9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: “For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name.” 10 And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!” 11 And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!” 12 And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.” 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:7-13)
The church must not be a place of rejection or segregation but of acceptance and love. Unfortunately, this does not happen automatically. People who become followers of Christ through faith in Him must be reminded that they are not simply saved individually for their own individual comfort. They are saved to form a community of faith that is inclusive of all kinds of people. Forming such communities of acceptance and love must be our priority as we follow Christ in this world.

Belief About Jesus (Part 2) | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’” 5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.” 8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’” 9 The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; 11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” 12 Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. (Luke 4:1-13)
God created us for Himself. This is the only way that we can be fulfilled as human beings and also this is the only way to glorify God as human beings. However, He wants us to make this choice on our own. He does not want to force His will upon us. Now, this is the problem. We cannot make this choice on our own because our hearts are enslaved to sin and controlled by Satan. We are really not free. Someone more powerful than him must come and deliver us so that we can love God freely. That Someone is no other than Jesus. Jesus alone has the power to defeat Satan in our lives.
