I am doing early spring cleaning or decluttering or home organizing. I do it every ten years whether I need to or not. A book I am reading by Jerry Minchey is called Tidying Up. He recommends the best way to declutter your living space is to focus on one category at a time and select the things that give you the most joy and get rid of the rest. I decided that showing the things that give me the most joy in most of the categories might make for an interesting video. In today's video, I chose my JC Higgins Hunting Jacket. it gives me the most joy of all my clothes. I filmed the video with my new Canon S100 camera that apparently has the same poor sound quality as my last two cameras. This gives me no joy at all. I will fix, repair or replace the camera before making another video with this one that has such poor sound. Please accept my apologies. I consider this series of videos to be a challenge to you guys that are watching to make a video on the things that give you the most joy. Also, I will leave a link to Jerry's book. I have been asked by a few people to do a cooking video on how to make deviled eggs. Every year I make deviled eggs for Thanksgiving. I'm guessing it's over 40 years of making deviled eggs. The recipe is almost always the same because everybody seems to like it. It's very basic deviled eggs I learned from my mom who learned from her mom. It's the standard common deviled egg recipe. INGREDIENTS Hard-boiled egg yolks mayonnaise lemon juice or vinegar mustard salt there is a variety of other items people can add like pickle relish finely chopped parsley or bacon bits. Usually, the only topping I add is a sprinkling of paprika. I was listening to music while making this Thanksgiving morning and had planned to add other music over it but then later realized I would lose the sounds of me making the eggs which was an important part of the video. I hope you don't think that I wanted you to listen to these songs because they were playing randomly on my MP3 player which holds about 1600 songs. They were just entertaining me while I made the eggs. Hopefully, it will do the same for you guys but if not it wasn't intentional and I understand completely if you are not a big fan of my random music. I never planned for it to be part of the video. On top of that, it ruins any monetization. I'm rambling here. You get the point. This video could have been edited down to 45 seconds. In this video I go over the plants I have started for my lazy garden project and in the end, I have some photos of a hidden pond I found in the city. There are so few places to be alone in nature in the city, the little pond was so unexpected and tranquil. The day I was at the pond the wind was blowing through the Australian pines. Someone has been there before and left two chairs. I saw no trash except a piece of cloth and a wrapper from a Slim Jim. I am going to attach the little wind chime I bought on Amazon to the tree and visit now and then. Nearby are some mounds of dirt overgrown with non-edible weeds. I will add some discrete vegetables. I also found not far away a few dead trees that would make a good support for the Passion Fruit and Jicama or Malabar Spinach. The ground near the canal is mowed a few times a year and there is little grass, mostly wild plants or weeds. I have been thinking of introducing some edible purslane which grows very low and would survive the mowing. I found a location that has a large fenced parking lot that is covered in weeds. The fence will make a good support for Everglades tomato and a patch of wild shrubs could use a mulberry tree or elderberry bush. Now I just have to find some places for the chaya that is coming.
