What is an "Open Door"? | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Christians are unaware of what is available to them because of Christ. Consequently, they miss the opportunities that God makes available for them if they will trust in Him. They waste their time and resources dabbling in worldly pursuits or false attachments. Many settle for mediocrity in their Christian lives instead of experiencing the glory of God. What they need is a deep understanding of the concept of "Open Door." What is an "Open Door"?

Reasons for True Worship | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Text: Psalm 33:1-22
Worship is very important in the Christian life. But what is even more important are the reasons why we are doing it. Some Christians love to worship because of the feelings they get out of it. They love the music and the ambiance of a "worship event". But true worship must have its reasons and those reasons must be valid both biblically and personally. Only when we know why we are worshiping the Lord can we truly say that we are worshiping Him in spirit and truth.

26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” 34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.” 38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. (Luke 1:26-38)
Those who do not believe in the Lord live their lives as if everything depended on them. Those who believe in Jesus, however, know that they need grace every moment of their lives. They hunger and thirst for grace because everything in their existence depends on it. Without grace, they cannot survive nor thrive in this world. With grace, nothing is impossible with God. Grace is not just God's attitude toward us but His power that is at work in and through us.

Main Idea: “The right response to grace is humility.” (“Ang tamang pagtugon sa biyaya ng Diyos ay kababaan ng loob.”)
What should be our response to grace?
Three Humble Responses
1. Surprise (vv.26-29).
2. Seek clarity (vv.30-37).
3. Surrender (v.38).

Individualism in the church can lead to a lack of community and connection among members. When individuals prioritize their own needs and desires above the collective well-being of the church, it can hinder the development of meaningful relationships and the sense of belonging within the community. Being a Christian is living in community with others.

How to Discern an Open Door | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
An "Open Door" is an opportunity given by God to us so that we can experience the presence of Christ, the purpose of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Thus, it is our foretaste of heaven on earth. But how do we know if an "Open Door" is actually set before us by God? What if we are wrong? How can we be sure? In other words, how do we discern an "Open Door"? The answer? We need to TEST it.

Hindrances to Faith | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 27, 2022
Text: Luke 16:14-18
The good news of the kingdom of God is being proclaimed today and everyone is being invited to believe in Jesus so that they can enter into it. But not everyone is willing. They know it would involve some radical changes in their lives and they are not willing to do that. We need to understand what is hindering them.

Not all types of consolations are from the Lord. We must learn to discern when the enemy of our souls is trying to deceive us through false consolations.

Day 5 of RLCC Daily Devo: Walking in Faith
Scripture: Genesis 12:8-9
"From there he moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord. And Abram journeyed on, still going toward the Negeb."
Reflection:
Abram continued his journey, pitching his tent in different places and building altars to worship the Lord. His faith was not a one-time event but a continuous journey of walking with God.
Application:
Our faith journey is ongoing. Like Abram, we should continually seek God's presence, worship Him, and remain steadfast in our faith as we move through life's various seasons.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to walk in faith, just as Abram did. May we continually seek Your presence, worship You, and remain steadfast in our journey with You. Guide us as we move through the different seasons of life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen
