Decided to 'upgrade' the stainless steel bento box on the rear loop of the BSA, to be able to carry a chain lock.
This is the lock that I went for (cheap returned item, via Amazon Warehouse):-

The 'Turner Nibbler' is widely available online. Cuts sheet metal up to 2mm aluminium, 2mm copper, 2mm brass, 1.6mm mild steel, 1mm stainless steel and 0.8mm titanium. Leaves a clean cut with no burring or distortion even on very thin sheet metal.

My B50 turns out to have an oversize barrel and piston. Does anyone recognise this modification? Where did the piston come from & is this 'up-sizing' a recognised mod? Any help / advice would be appreciated. UPDATE: Based on advice from the B50 Forum (www.b50.org), the engine has had a 580cc Big Bore Kit fitted. Developed by BSA USA it uses a "Jahns" piston & LA Liners liner :)

Having swapped the number plate lights on the Ford a few months ago with LED versions, the nearside light had begun to flicker. Trying other LED replacements they are evidently of dubious quality and many suffer from similar problems. I'm going back to incandescent bulbs unless a quality LED source turns up.
