On this episode of The Art of Charm, we're pleased to present science champion Neil deGrasse Tyson. His complete resume would be too lengthy to list here, but some highlights include Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, host of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and StarTalk, and author of The Pluto Files: The Rise and Fall of America's Favorite Planet and Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.
If you already know who he is, he needs no further introduction. And if you don't know who he is, you have our permission to take in this episode twice. Listen, learn, and enjoy!

Hosted by Jordan Harbinger.
Tom Bilyeu has lived life and realized success on what most would consider to be a circuitous route. Beginning as an aspiring (but, according to him, talentless) filmmaker, he fell into copywriting for shady-sounding entrepreneurs who turned out to be legitimate, and went into business with them as a co-founder of Quest Nutrition so he could "look like Wolverine."
Within five years, that company would be valued at over a billion dollars. After an amicable parting of ways with Quest Nutrition, he founded media company Impact Theory with his wife and hosts its accompanying podcast. Join us while Tom gives us a tour of his unique path, why he made certain choices along the way, and what he sees for his future. Listen, learn, and enjoy!
The Cheat Sheet:
Why the fastest way to learn is to teach.
Developing a growth mindset (per previous guest Carol Dweck) to avoid getting stuck doing one thing forever.
Escaping the depression of feeling like a talentless hack.
Why limiting his prospects made Tom feel better about himself in the short run -- and how he broke away from being "The King of Remedial Jobs."
How do we preserve a positive belief system in the face of what looks like contrary evidence?
And so much more...

The art of leadership in business In this episode, we discuss what makes for a great company culture from top to bottom with Patrick Lencioni. Patrick is the pioneer of the organizational health movement, author of 11 books, keynote speaker, and one of the founders of The Table Group, a firm dedicated to making companies more successful and work more fulfilling.
Company culture might conjure silly images of bag chairs and free lunch to some, but company culture is much more than hip amenities and it can break an organization if it’s dysfunctional - so what is dysfunctional company culture, how do you risk losing your best talent unless you improve it, and is any company too big or too old to change its ways?
What to Listen For:
► What two areas of business do you need in order to successfully run a business?
► What are the 5 dysfunctions of management and what can you do to overcome them to build a world-class company culture people want to work within?
► Why is a willingness to be vulnerable and admit when you don’t know something important to developing a healthy company culture?
► Is conflict avoidance a good or bad thing in the workplace, and how should you approach disagreements and potential arguments?
► What does it mean to be trustworthy in a business environment and how can you identify someone who isn’t trustworthy before their failure becomes your failure?
► What should you do after realizing you are bringing dysfunctional behavior to an organization?
► What exercises can you do to build trust within your organization, regardless of whether you’re in management or not?
► What is the number one job killer for an individual within a business organization and what can you do to solve it without spending a dime?
► What three things do people need at work to love going to work every day and how can you provide those three things?
► Why is efficiency overrated and effectiveness underrated, and how can a drive for efficiency push out all the people who matter to your organization?
► What 3 qualities do you need to be a great team player, and why can missing just one of them lead to a disaster?
Company culture is not about giving your employees more benefits, amenities, or unlimited vacation. Among other things, it is about trusting the people you work with, supporting open and honest communication, recognizing the contributions of others, and leadership/management that embodies healthy conflict resolution and leading by example. Without those things clearly communicated and reinforced from the top down, it’s only a matter of time before people get hired that do not believe in the same ideas, which leads to an organization where managers and leadership taking credit for their teams, people feeling isolated and unappreciated, and everyone looking out for themselves rather than the collective good.

In this episode, we talk about the do’s and don’ts of networking, how to prepare for networking events, and how to approach networking events if you’re an introvert. The best networkers prepare for networking events in order to get the most out of them, but how do you go about preparing for a networking event, what are the do’s and don’ts of networking, and is your first impression shooting you in the foot before you even open your mouth?
What to Listen For:
► What are the do’s and don’ts of networking?
► How do you handle a networking event if you’re an introvert?
► What can you do to prepare for a networking event, and do you even need to?
► How can a bad (or even a neutral) first impression ruin your chances of success at a networking event and what can you do to make a fantastic first impression instead?
► What kind of research should you do before a networking event?
► How do you set yourself up for success before and/or during a networking event?
► How do you choose what to wear for a networking event, and what should you avoid wearing?
► Where should you hang out at networking events if you want to have the best chance of talking to the individuals you’re trying to meet?
► Why is it a mistake to make a pitch or try to close a deal when you meet someone at a networking event?
► What game can you play to make networking opportunities fun and productive?
► Why is it hurting you to think about what you can take from networking opportunities rather than what you can give?
► What should you do after a networking event to help you process and learn from the experience?
► Why is it damaging to your networking potential if you can’t explain what you do in simple terms?
► What should your elevator pitch attempt to accomplish and why do so many of us focus on the wrong parts?
► Why do most people fail when it comes to networking and what can you do to set yourself apart from them?
► How soon after meeting someone at a networking event should you start working on the follow-up?
► What is a pre-event and how can you plan a simple one to your advantage, setting you apart from most people at a networking event?
Networking is like many endeavors in this world – your results depend on how much work you’re willing to put in. The best networkers prepare for every networking event by making sure their first impression is on point, they know who is going to attend and who they want to meet, they understand how to connect and pitch themselves, and most importantly, they follow up.
