The Uganda Badminton Association with partners launched the 5th edition of the city tyres east africa badminton challenge that will take place in Uganda at lugogo indoor stadium from the 26th to the 29th Oct 2023.
The tournament that is expected to have over 400 players from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania will be played both in teams and individual formats with singles, doubles and mixed games.

Uganda joins the rest of the world to commemorate world contraception day, aimed at improving access and utilization of contraception as an essential health service.
The National celebrations will be held in Kyenjojo district under the theme, “Breaking barriers, embracing Choices for youth”
Kyejojo district was chosen due to the fact that Rwenzori region recorded the highest prevalence of teenage pregnancy, with about 11,600 cases.
The Director, Curative Services at the Ministry of Health, Olaro Charles, says that improved access to low-cost contraception and its uptake through family planning programs has reduced high-risk pregnancies, maternal and child mortality.
