In #Ottawa, last week it was hot, then it was freezing, and today it’s hot again. But I assumed it was still freezing! So I’m stuck carrying winter clothes! How could I possibly know what the weather is like outside before heading out? ? Your standup comedy lesson: I filmed this off the cuff, because I was upset about having to carry all my winter clothes around. At the end, I got to the funny idea that I don’t know that I can just step outside to test the weather before heading out. I will see if I can refine this into a short joke I can do at an open mic tonight. This is a good way to write comedy. Just start ranting about something and then go back and look at it and see if there’s anything in there you can refine into a joke for comedy act. One of my teachers told me that comedy is just about telling people that’s wrong.
