Transmute (396hz) is the third track off the upcoming Relaxatone album, Isochrone, produced by guitarist Jason Goessl. Transmute resonates at 396hz, a frequency that is said to create a strong magnetic field of energy and can help turn grief into joy. When Transmute is looped on repeat, it creates a great backdrop for relaxing activities like yoga, reiki, massage, and meditation. It can also be used as a sleeping aid. To get the full isochronic effect, it is best to listen to this track with headphones at a low volume. However, Transmute is also a great daily soundtrack for your home or office speakers to help relax the body, relieve anxiety, invoke a positive mental state, and give you the power to achieve your goals.

Eric Martinez collaborated with his Bloodkin bandmate, Daniel Hutchens, in “Can’t Stand Up.” Hutchens penned the lyrics about a stroke he suffered from in December 2016 and it would be the last track the two would collaborate on before Hutchens’ passing in May 2021. Martinez recalls crafting the song and it sounding like it had a particular calling for Hutchens. As the recording process for his forthcoming record ‘Caldera’ came to a close, there was no doubt that this song would close out the record as he envisions it sounding like a move that had a good ending—an uncanny coincidence and spiritual parallel of Hutchens’ transition from the earthly plane. ‘Caldera’ also features the late Todd Nance, the founding drummer of Widespread Panic who passed away in August 2020. [in approval - wanted Eric's feedback on this since it's a personal and profound song.

“Quickie” by the Gabriel Mervine Quartet showcases the talents of four of the most versatile musicians in the Denver music scene. Mervine composed the tight-knit groove tune in 10 minutes, hence its title. Right out of the gate, the group possesses unmatched musical chemistry as Mervine (trumpet), Alex Heffron (guitar) and Tom Amend (organ) introduce the track with finely tuned harmonies accentuated by tasteful hits by Alejandro Castano on drums. Each member passes the baton seamlessly as they take a ride during the solo sections highlighting their individual talents. Both the whole and each independent part highlight champion musicality that’s been refined at a weekly residency at Denver’s Spangalang Brewery. This is the first of several tracks to be released on Color Red throughout 2019.

The song and second single "Sacrificium Crudelis" was the first song in cooperation with amazing artist Carsten Meyer. He brought wild pychedellic moog passages that perfectly match the feedback thunderstorm of the Hofner-Verithin guitar from 1965 guitar (live jammed). - escallation of the capercaillie.

“Moonlight Sonata” puts Reed Mathis and company’s dark and dreamy imprint on the classic Beethoven sonata. This version is dominated by Clay Welch’s slide guitar and Josh Raymer’s laid-back groove on top of a near-reggae skank throughout—it’s the kind of track you can toss on at 4 a.m. and enjoy the chilled out ride for hours on end.
Mathis notes that “Moonlight Sonata” is one of the most iconic chord progressions in history. It was the direct inspiration behind classics ranging from The Beatles’ “Because” to Radiohead’s “Exit Music For a Film” and countless other haunting melodies in modern times. The fourth track on the Color Red series will be followed up by additional releases and will culminate in a full-length album to be released later in 2019.

“Mr. Sneaky” by Aaron Johnston’s (Brazilian Girls) newest project J.E.D.I., does just that on their second single as part of a monthly release series via Color Red. The initial melody embodies Mission Impossible vibes and right when it settles in, the track breaks down into ethereal chord voicings courtesy of Borahm Lee on Rhodes. From there, it ramps into a breakbeat double-time feel before taking it home back to the initial melody. Just as any classic spy movie exemplifies, “Mr. Sneaky” is mysterious, funky, playful, and always there watching and waiting. Stay tuned for the next single by J.E.D.I. coming out on April 16th.

Amsterdam’s Cavolo Nero’s debut single “Seaweed” is a psychedelic afrobeat song that’s lighthearted and intended to make listeners happy. Taking a Tinariwen-inspired groove, the band added jovial lyrics that reminisce about eating seaweed burgers and drinking Long Island Iced Teas on a sunny summer day. Bandleader Chris Walthaus enlisted his flatmate, Kieran Everts, to write a spoken word part in French in the psychedelic bridge section and his words speak to being in the moment and the peace that’s found in letting yourself go in the rhythm of the music. The band will release their debut EP on Color Red in early 2022 that’s as musically nutrient dense as the leafy green Tuscan cuisine staple the band’s name is derived from.
