This is a story about how Wim Hof got his scar that didn’t make it into my book “What Doesn’t Kill Us”. At the time I was worried that it might portray him in the wrong light, but now that we are in a time where Wim Hof is regularly on TV and has a following of millions, I think it’s important to paint as full a picture as possible.
Everything in this video is based on my recollections of interviews with Wim Hof and his family over the years and is true to the best of my knowledge. Wim’s recovery is also recounted in part in Justin Rosales’s book “Becoming the Iceman.” The takeaways from how to think about the Wim Hof method in light of this information are expressly my opinions.
