What! Cell Phones in 1970s? More on that later... Here are two Premier U30Cs by MTH. This is just a little video (no narration) review MTH's latest releases from thier 2010 catalog, vol. 2. They are Rock Island cabs #4589 and #4592. I have the two running around my temporary track layout in a dual powered lash-up (no dummy engines here!).

At the beginning of the video I run through the freight yard announcements (FYA) dialog. NOTICE.... I changed the sound file of #4589 and It's the only one I can find that has this type of a horn (it's a real honker!). The problem is the FYA has a guy telling the other he will call him on his cell phone. The problem is... When the real of these locomotives ran back in the 1970s THEY DIDN'T HAVE CELL PHONES!!! So by changing the sound file I kinda messed with the prototypical scene of it all, But I really don't run FYA anyway so it'a all good! I love the this horn!

At the end of the video I do a quick light demonstration. I opened up the body shell to access the lights. I did a modification so that the number boards and headlight wouldn't light up the cab. My demo shows the Number boards, headlights, markers, and interior modifications. I then do a final sequence shut down. BTW- When you hear the guy say "take care- see you soon" that is NOT ME! That is the sound file recording from MTH.

I make these videos in hopes that others can see and hear the types of MTH models and sounds that are out there. Hopefully this will help you chose your next model.
