In this video, I discuss the event risk surrounding the U.S. 2020 Presidential Election and the effects that it could have on the U.S. stock market. I believe that any market dip or crash will be a buying opportunity, simply because the Federal Reserve has the real power, and wants the stock market to go up.
VIX futures are pricing in the highest event risk of any recent election, but I think that the transition of power will be relatively smooth, and that the VIX will have a long way to fall. As the VIX falls, stocks will rise.
At the end of the video, I discuss my own political views. In my opinion, two-party politics is the lowest form of political thinking. I believe in focusing on the local over the national. I also believe in working on ways to create a separation between money and state.

In this video, I discuss Jeremy Grantham's thesis that we are in the late stages of a massive stock market bubble. While I agree with him that we have many of the speculative markers that you would associate with a late-stage bubble, I think that these considerations are overwhelmed by central bank activism (low interest rates, quantitative easing).
The Fed has a choice to trash the US economy (through higher rates and a stronger dollar), or trash the US dollar. I believe that it will continue to choose the latter.
We are living through the final unwinding of the current global financial system, as fiat currencies are massively devalued in an effort to deal with massive government debt levels.

In this video, I discuss the ongoing weaponization of the US dollar and how it heralds the end of the US dollar global financial system.
If US dollars are no longer a safe, neutral reserve asset or the main currency for global commodity trade, then the US dollar has had both of its legs cut out from under it.
Russia learned this the hard way in March 2022, when its FX reserves were confiscated by the US and EU. Now China is waking up to the fact that it too has massive exposure to Western sanctions, due to its large US Treasury holdings.

In this video, I discuss how the Fed is stuck between a rock and a hard place. It can attempt to tame inflation, but tank the stock market in the process. Or it can let inflation run hot and hurt consumers and the politicians who will get voted out.
Ultimately, the Fed will need to turn the money printers back on in order to continue monetizing US government deficits. I suspect this will happen in Q3 2022, or even sooner if something breaks in the US financial plumbing.
