I wiped out the other day riding my bike. It inspired a new project.

A summer ago I built up a genuine vintage road bike from a rusty old frame and parts gathered from various sources. The build didn't go without problems. The commitment to share the process with my YouTube audience helped me stay focused on it and ultimately lead to a complete bike that is a pleasure to ride.
There are advantages to having steel wheels and a high gear ratio.

It was my first long bicycle tour and I was in deep trouble after trying to leave New Orleans via a bridge that was restricted to cyclists. Was I going to jail? It was up to two police officers whose job it was to patrol the bridge. This story actually happened to me. You can read about it in my book "Destinations are Fake", available here: http://www.amazon.ca/dp/099594590X/ref=nosim?tag=jorgschlaghec-20

In part 2 of the adventure I launch my inflatable boat, a Hydroforce Voyager 300, for a 46 km journey down the North Saskatchewan River, from Devon back to Edmonton.I even brought my drone along for the ride, not sure if I should launch it from the unstable boat, but I have a tip for those who fly their drone with an iPhone. See for yourself what happens along the way!

This is part 2 of building a boat / bicycle carrier to be used with my Hydroforce Voyager 300 inflatable boat.
You see me try out the how the plywood platform fits on the boat. I come across some problems with the weight distribution of the bike. Will some elastic straps solve the problem?
Will this thing ever see the river at all? Would a high quality pack raft make more sense?

In this video I go for a ride in -8 degree weather, simply to show you a relatively new trail in the Edmonton area, where you can ride your bike, unobstructed for about half an hour. following along the river, it is one of Edmonton's nicest trails. This video shows part of the trail footage. Look for the entire 18 minutes (camera battery died) tomorrow here on my channel, so you can watch it while you're riding your indoor trainer. A short while ago I had a surprise. Professional painter Martin Grey of ETOE from Germany had come out with a video that features me in my video "How to paint a vintage Steel Bike". Martin was commenting on my process step by step and quite obviously enjoying it, along with a mysterious green drink.
That video was simply screaming for a response from "the one and only", so here it is.
Martin Grey does unique paint work on high end bicycles. Here is a link to his channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/EtoEGermany
