The rescued otters are in trouble for food and habitat. Adult otters love to kill babies and other animals. They scare away other wild otters that come begging for food. I lost 2 wild otter groups when I adopted 2 adult pet otters. I also can't release these pet otters into the wild right now because they will run into people's houses. It is very difficult to help pet otters love mangroves.

The tail is highly muscular and comprises up to 40 percent of the otter's total body length. With the tail's strong, undulating movement, a river otter propels itself through the water as fast as 8 miles (13 kilometers) per hour and can easily dive to 36 feet (11 meters) or more. Asian small-clawed otters were released by Merman Tiun in 2015. Since then, thanks to the generosity of people like you, we've given over 1000 patients a second chance at life. Every patient's ultimate goal is to be returned to the wild. Our veterinary care team evaluates patient treatment plans on a regular basis and carefully monitors each animal's behavior to determine whether they are ready to return to the wild. For our youngest patients, this means confirming that they have the skills needed to survive on their own, such as the ability to catch and eat whole fish. After treatment, patients are given a thorough exam to ensure that any remaining health concerns have been addressed. Patients are then given a second chance at life and released back into the wild. Our primary release sites in Vietnam are quiet, non-public mangroves in areas known to have abundant food resources. To ensure animals have limited contact with humans, we sometimes release patients by car further out in national parks, such as near the Phu Quoc islands. Releases of threatened or endangered species with a limited range, such as our Hairy-Nosed otters and Smooth-Coated otters patients, take place as close to the animal's rescue location as possible. Every time he saves marine life in the mangrove forest, Merman Tiun also grows more mangrove trees to create more shelters for them. By the way, thank you to Ms. Minh Tam for donating $2.5 to rescue sea creatures.

Red groupers are unspecialized and opportunistic feeders – they eat any convenient prey. They are also near threatened. I'm so sorry when I saw the beautiful red grouper being killed in a restaurant. Please stop eating rare sea fishes on Con Dao.

Pangolins have walked the earth for 80 million years, as insect eaters who provide an important role in our ecosystem. Yet today, Pangolins are believed to be the most trafficked mammals in the world. They are trafficked for their scales, which are made of keratin like our fingernails and rhino horns. Pangolins are as a result fast facing extinction. In this video, we hear from Merman Tiun the animal rescuer and Save Vietnam's Wildlife, about how you can help save the Pangolin before it’s too late. You can report any suspicious activity related to the killing or capture of Pangolins or the trade in Pangolin parts to ENV 18001522
