Understanding God's Kingdom | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Nov 4, 2022
Text: Luke 17:20-37
The kingdom of God is the central message of Jesus. Salvation in His name cannot be separated from this reality. To be saved is to actually enter into God's kingdom through faith in Jesus Christ.
Growing in Ministry | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 5, 2022
Text: Luke 12:35-48
The Lord wants us to serve Him. This is the reason why He saved us and why He is transforming us each day by the power of His Holy Spirit. Everyone is called to serve Him in some form of ministry. We are to be faithful to that calling. Although there are different ways of serving God, what is important is how we are serving God. We need to grow in this area.

1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)
The path that we take determines the direction of our lives. Our direction is more important than our intentions. We must choose the right path so that we can be headed in the right direction. When we are headed in the right direction, and we persevere in it with patience and humility, we will reach the right destination by grace through faith.

Main Idea: “Train yourself to live a godly life.” (“Sanayin mo ang iyong sarili na mamuhay nang makaDiyos.”)
What is the right path?
Two Wise Decisions
1. Don't follow the path of the ungodly (v.1).
2. Follow the path of the godly (v.2).

The Bible speaks of the heart as the core of our being, the seat of our emotions, and the center of our thoughts. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Matthew 5:8 reads, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Jeremiah 17:9 states, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” In other words, the Bible emphasizes the importance of having a pure, humble heart that is devoted to the Lord. It is through a heart devoted to God that we can find wisdom, strength, and peace.

13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus. 18 Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days. 19 I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother. 20 I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie. 21 Then I went to Syria and Cilicia. 22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they praised God because of me. (Galatians 1:13-24)
Every person who has come to faith in Christ has a story to tell. There may be differences in the details, but each story is similar. It talks about the process of transformation that God initiates and works out in a person's life, not just at the beginning but as an ongoing experience. This is useful for sharing the Gospel with others. People want to know how the Gospel has transformed us. But this is also useful for assessing our own experience. Can we also speak about our own conversion?

During the holiday season or any other season, it's hard to practice our spiritual disciplines. So, we feel condemned. We fall short of God's expectations and we know it deep inside. But we must learn to distinguish between condemnation and conviction so that we can respond faithfully.

We cannot remain spiritually immature forever. Just like Jesus, we need to grow in our faith.
