What if NASA had the US Military's Budget? REACTION #shorts #tiktok #NASA #space #mars #Moon
What Could NASA Do With $600 Billion Dollars? Not as much as you might think.... Strap in as we fact check this very popular (and imaginative) video, and splash some cold, reality flavored water on this anti-military video made by Second Thought.
Steve Shives is an atheist vlogger who has produced video series including "An Atheist Reads" and "Five Things" (previously Five Stupid Things). His videos deal with debunking conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, and assorted woo.
Shives has expressed vocal support for Atheism+, and he has argued that feminism should be more widely accepted in the atheist community. This position has unsurprisingly drawn sharp criticism from anti-feminists in the atheist YouTube community, including Armoured Skeptic, TheAmazingAtheist, and Sargon of Akkad.
Besides his YouTube channel, Shives used to occupy the Tuesday slot on the collective-run Breakfast Club channel until it was discontinued in October 2015.
He does a very good RP accent apart from completely forgetting the yod sound /j/ before certain vowels.
Steve Warren Shives is an American YouTuber who covers a wide variety of topics. A few examples of these topics would be wrestling, current events, comic books, movie reviews, atheism, Star Trek, and conspiracy theories.
On April 26, 2016, Steve began a new series called "Trek, Actually" where he would analyze an episode or cinematic theme of Star Trek. Some of his most viewed videos in this series are about debating time travel plots ("Who is Actually Star Trek's Most Reckless Time Travler?"), discussing the ethics of the Prime Directive ("Why the Prime Directive Might Actually be a Terrible Rule"), and debating the politics of Star Trek ("SJWs Invented Star Trek" & "How Does Star Trek Say We Should Handle Refugees?").

Mars has a salt problem, and I'm not refering to perchlorates. The Red Planet is covered in salt flats because the process that stripped Mars of much of its water didn't take the salt.
This is a problem, because when we do terraform Mars, its lakes, rivers and seas will resemble the Dead Sea rather than a conventional Earth ocean. The Dead Sea has a salinity content 10 times greater than our oceans. At those levels not only does a human body naturally float on the surface, but it has a sterilizing effect, meaning not much can live in it out side a few species of algae, certainly no fish can survive in it.
Which again is an issue because as soon as there's liquid water on the surface you can guarantee humans will be stocking it with fish and oxygen producing plants, because our colonists are definitely going to need a good source of protein and what's better than fish?
Thankfully, the good people at Seawater Greenhouse may already have a solution that isn't only bringing fresh drinking water and vegetables to the most arid, driest locations on Earth, but it just might be the solution that newly minted Martians will need to thrive.
Their system works by using solar and wind power to drive water into the greenhouse. The saltwater is then run over a cardboard lattice to maximize surface area and increase evaporation. Temperature differences cause the humidity (which is now fresh water) to condensate into water droplets that are then filters. The salt that collects is scrapped off the ground usually with a shovel, but I'm sure colonists will automate the process.

Vulcan /ˈvʌlkən/[2] was a theorized planet that some pre-20th century astronomers thought existed in an orbit between Mercury and the Sun. Speculation about, and even purported observations of, intermercurial bodies or planets date back to the beginning of the 17th century. The case for their probable existence was bolstered by the French mathematician Urbain Le Verrier who, by 1859, had confirmed unexplained peculiarities in Mercury's orbit and predicted they had to be the result of gravitational influences of another unknown nearby planet or series of asteroids. A French amateur astronomer's report that he had observed an object passing in front of the Sun that same year led Le Verrier to announce that the long sought after planet, which he gave the name Vulcan, had been discovered at last.
Many searches were conducted for Vulcan over the following decades, but despite several claimed observations, its existence could not be confirmed. The need for the planet as an explanation for Mercury's orbital peculiarities was later rendered unnecessary when Einstein's 1915 theory of general relativity showed that Mercury's departure from an orbit predicted by Newtonian physics was explained by effects arising from the curvature of spacetime caused by the Sun's mass.
In 1915 Einstein's theory of relativity, an approach to understanding gravity entirely differently from classical mechanics, removed the need for Le Verrier's hypothetical planet.[3] It showed that the peculiarities in Mercury's orbit were the results of the curvature of spacetime caused by the mass of the Sun.[27] This added a predicted 0.1 arc-second advance of Mercury's perihelion each orbital revolution, or 43 arc-seconds per century, exactly the observed amount (without any recourse to the existence of a hypothetical Vulcan).[28] The new theory modified the predicted orbits of all planets, but the magnitude of the differences from Newtonian theory diminishes rapidly as one gets farther from the Sun. Also, Mercury's fairly eccentric orbit makes it much easier to detect the perihelion shift than is the case for the nearly circular orbits of Venus and Earth. Einstein's theory was empirically verified in the Eddington experiment during the solar eclipse of May 29, 1919 when photographs showed the curvature of spacetime was bending starlight around the Sun. Astronomers generally quickly accepted that a large planet inside the orbit of Mercury could not exist, given the corrected equation of gravity.[25]: 220
Today, the International Astronomical Union has reserved the name "Vulcan" for the hypothetical planet, even though it has been ruled out, and also for the Vulcanoids, a hypothetical population of asteroids that may exist inside the orbit of the planet Mercury. Thus far, however, earth- and space-based telescopes and the NASA Parker Solar Probe have detected no such asteroids. While three Atira asteroids have perihelion points within the orbit of Mercury, their aphelia are outside that orbital path, therefore they cannot be defined as 'vulcanoids', which would require wholly intra-mercurian circular orbital trajectories, which none of them possess.
Vulcan (also known as Vulcan/Vulcanis A II, Nevasa II or 40 Eridani A II) is a planet, the second planet in the 40 Eridani star system, in orbit of the star 40 Eridani A. A class M desert planet, Vulcan is inhabited by the Vulcan civilization, who refer to their world as T'Khasi, Minshara or Ti-Valka'ain.
As the Vulcan homeworld, Vulcan was the capital planet of the Confederacy of Vulcan, and a founding world in both the Coalition of Planets and United Federation of Planets. Terraforming or terraformation (literally, "Earth-shaping") is the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying the atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecology of a planet, moon, or other body to be similar to the environment of Earth to make it habitable by Earth-like life.
The concept of terraforming developed from both science fiction and actual science. Carl Sagan, an astronomer, proposed the planetary engineering of Venus in 1961, which is considered one of the first accounts of the concept.[1] The term was coined by Jack Williamson in a science-fiction short story ("Collision Orbit") published in 1942 in Astounding Science Fiction,[2] although terraforming in popular culture may predate this work.
Even if the environment of a planet could be altered deliberately, the feasibility of creating an unconstrained planetary environment that mimics Earth on another planet has yet to be verified. While Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and even the Moon have been studied in relation to the subject, Mars is usually considered to be the most likely candidate for terraforming. Much study has been done concerning the possibility of heating the planet and altering its atmosphere, and NASA has even hosted debates on the subject. Several potential methods for the terraforming of Mars may be within humanity's technological capabilities, but at present, the economic resources required to do so are far beyond that which any government or society is willing to allocate to it.
The long timescales and practicality of terraforming are also the subject of debate. As the subject has gained traction, research has expanded to other possibilities including biological terraforming, paraterraforming, and modifying humans to better suit the environments of planets and moons. Despite this, questions still remain in areas relating to the ethics, logistics, economics, politics, and methodology of altering the environment of an extraterrestrial world, presenting issues to the implementation of the concept.

NASA’s Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover, or VIPER, is a mobile robot that will go to the South Pole of the Moon to get a close-up view of the location and concentration of water ice that could eventually be harvested to sustain human exploration on the Moon, Mars — and beyond. VIPER represents the first resource mapping mission on another celestial body.
VIPER is planned for delivery to the lunar surface in late 2024 under NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. VIPER contributes to NASA’s efforts to partner with commercial lunar delivery services to the surface of the Moon using emerging commercial landers to deliver ready-to-fly payloads.
