Today, we center our thoughts on God's guidance in our lives. In Genesis 21, we see Abraham facing a tough decision regarding his son, Ishmael. When emotions ran high, God's instruction prevailed. Our meditation today encourages us to prioritize God's guidance over our emotions and relationships. In your own life, is there a situation where you need to focus more on God's instructions rather than your emotions? Take a moment to reflect. In prayer, ask for God's wisdom and strength to follow His guidance even when emotions are strong. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl5cHrZZjVE
Guarding Our Freedom in Christ | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. 2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. 7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty. 11 Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves! (Galatians 5:1-12)
Everyone wants to be free. But true freedom is found only in Christ. Apart from Christ, what people call freedom is just slavery in disguise. They are not really free from sin and selfishness. Consequently, they are also not free to be what God wants them to be and to do, which would result in experiencing life as it was meant to be by God (which is also called eternal life in the Bible). In Christ, we can experience real freedom that leads to eternal life. For this reason, we must guard the freedom we have in Christ at all cost.

Picture this: Abraham, the father of faith, embarking on a journey of purpose, with every step, his divine path was becoming clearer before him. Yet, like all of us, his faith faced the crucible of testing. His experience invites us to explore our own journey of faith, for it's not a question of "if" we'll be tested, but "when". When the test happens, where we focus our attention will determine our success in fulfilling our mission in life.

4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people. (Philemon 1:4-7)
How would you know if a person is truly a Christian? It's not by words alone. It's not by going to church every Sunday or by attending weekly Bible studies. Those things are important. But they do not by themselves prove that one is truly a Christian. Genuine faith is seen in the way we relate with people, especially fellow Christians, regardless of their status.

Asking God For Help | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Nov 4, 2022
Text: Psalm 54:1-7
We sometimes find ourselves in need. Either we are being harassed by evil people or we are in situations where we don't know what to do or how to get out. During such times, we can come to God and ask for help.

It is a challenge to talk about religion and politics because these topics are often very sensitive and can be controversial. People often have very strong opinions about religion and politics and are not willing to compromise or see things from different perspectives. This can lead to heated debates and disagreements that can be difficult to navigate or negotiate. But it's always helpful to know what Jesus taught about politics. Perhaps, He alone can bring about the right balance to resolve the disagreements.

Christian leaders are called to serve and inspire others based on the ways and teachings of Christ. However, like all leaders, Christian leaders have blind spots that can impact their credibility. These blind spots are often hidden from the leaders but are obvious to the followers.

As a follower of Christ, we must constantly do certain activities together with others on a regular basis. Failure to do so will affect our spiritual lives. We will not grow toward spiritual maturity unless we rearrange our lives by faith according to God's kingdom agenda.

1 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means... 19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” 21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.” (Luke 8:1-3,19-21)
We all have a need to belong. God knows this. That's why He created the family of Jesus so that together we can belong to Him and to one another. However, some people do not understand this. They think that being a Christian is just a personal decision. We don't need to think about others. We can have a relationship with Jesus all by ourselves. But this is contrary to the vision of Jesus for His church. We are called to be His family.

Main Idea: “Together we are called to belong to the family of Jesus.” (“Sama-sama tayong tinawag para mapabilang sa pamilya ni Jesus.”)
What does it mean to belong to the family of Jesus?
Three Essentials
1. We follow Jesus together (vv.1-2).
2. We serve Jesus together (v.3).
3. We obey Jesus together (vv.19-21).

Acts 2:14-41 gives us a record of the first evangelistic sermon in the Book of Acts. Based on the amount of space that Luke devotes for this sermon, we can assume that he intended it to be a model for us in proclaiming the Gospel.
