I was walking in nature this morning and I stopped by a fruit that I had never seen before. I checked on my app and it was banana passiflora or banana passion fruit. It's a goog sweet edible fruit and the taste is similar to passion fruit. I found more fruit in this area, like prune, medlar, peach. Tenerife and especially the north where I am now is a heaven for wild fruits. And it's just the beginning as the fruit season is just starting. I did a new new solo hike this morning from Los Silos to El Tanque in the north west of Tenerife in the canary islands, where I found a very surprising pizzeria. Along the way, I grabbed plenty of wild fruits : medlar, apples, figs, bell flowers and soon almond. The almonds need another month to be fully ripe. I feel very free here and everytime I cross someone, he says Hola, Buenos dias, Qué tal ? People are quite friendly. It's also a strange feeling to see all those abandoned houses and villages. I'm thinking of the people that were living here in the past. There was life there and the only thing that remain are the wild fruit trees that are giving fruits years after years long time after the human life has gone.
