My Painted Turtle "RAILS" Eats dinner and listens to RUSH...Must read discription! :)
So I don't make the "UMPG" Gods mad at me- let me first say i don't own the music- its RUSH and only background noise. Okay- so here is "Rails" a turtle I rescued from the railroad tracks (that's why i call him Rails:) near Bureau Junction, Illinois. My buddy who is an Engineer for Iowa Interstate Railroad had stopped by after his shift ended and told me where it was... I thought it was dead from dehydration. We had bottled water in the car so I poured water on him and he came to life!!! It is known as a "Painted Turtle" which is common in Illinois and this one is a male characterized by the long tail and long claws. This video is during his feeding time- which is actually pretty cool to watch. Shrimp is on his menu today. At the end of the video are my North American Gray Tree Frogs and one green Northern Leopard Frog. Thanks and Enjoy!

Here is my Pennsylvania RR E8 ABA set.I modified the smoke so that it would blow out both motor stacks (instead of just one as per the factor release. I added MU lines to the front and I changed the sound file to the proper PRR sound file. Enjoy!!

cat-straddles-a-train!
While I was running my BNSF AC4400CW Premier Locomotive from MTH, my cat was running in and out from behind the sofa. I know it looks like there's lots of tiny specks on the carpet- and it might be seem dirty, but those are actually so very small I didn't even see them with my eyes until the camera (set to micro) picked every tiny thing up! Also there are a few pine needles on the carpet that my train picked up as it passed under the Christmas tree. Anyway, my cat would stop under the table and block the tracks. She finally moved off to the side but still wouldn't come out from under the table. I went to full smoke on my locomotive and smoked her out!! She was NOT happy...and most importantly... she was NOT hurt at all!

Wednesday, 3-28-12, was an early morning call from my friend who works for IAIS. The 513 had come through Bureau Junction, Illinois on the nights of 25th and 26th, but those were bad photo ops as it was at night. So this call today was great! I met my friend at the Hennepin Crossing (who was engineering the 513 on a NS coal run). He brought me over to the 513 so I could get some cool stills up close. I then waited for them to pull out- We also pass the area near Tiskilwa were the October derailment occurred. Note the lack of foliage, gone from the fire and the new Ballast laid down. I tried something different: I photographed through the "Fish eye" lens to try a different effect- Its subtle but noticeable- I also included the stills in with the video: Please tell me what y'all think! At 5pm on 3/27/2013, the Iowa Interstate #710 & 717 derailed heading into a local industry in Henry, Illinois. There was no damage, and no injuries to the train or crew. The cause was determined to be Industry Owned defective tract. It was NOT IAIS track.

Here is my latest PS2-DCS upgrade Demo. It's to a Williams (by Bachmann) O-gauge GP-38. Tested in this video is Sound, motion, lights, couplers, smoke unit, etc.
Like all my upgrades, I installed this one myself but for this one having left the smoke unit out only because at the time of the upgrade I was short of cash to purchase one! I'll install one later. As for the Model itself, like all Williams products, it's lacking in detail, Handrails and Grab-irons are grossly out of proportion and not realistic (let-a-lone accurate!), cab numbers are wrong (2200 series were B.N. merger cab numbers for GP-30s not GP-38s).
I also had to do some touch-up painting, painting the handrails black (they were red...yuck!) and window frames black and silver. It has working cab lights, marker lights, overhead mars light, and on the nose headlights. I still have to install the MU lines on the pilots. But at just $60.00 purchased stock and $150.00 (MTH RR Club price) $210.00 total, this wasn't a bad deal. It sounds Great, looks fairly cool, and overall I am happy with the MTH PS2 upgrade, and really, this little inexpensive Williams product in general.
