She refused to wear a mask in a store and the police were called because she refused to leave. Instead of just yelling the standard Facebook conspiracy nonsense, she pulls out the sovereign citizen stuff like federal law vs. mandates, illegal search and seizure, and lawsuits. She ends up arrested for resisting, trespassing, and failure to ID. I mention that Sovereigns don't seem to know what they follow, and that's becoming more evident every day. As there is no real leadership to their "movement," there is no solidarity on the exact application of what they select from that school of lacking thought. I have to say that when I recorded this, the police seemed to try to de-escalate, but it's more like they fed her childish tantrum by arguing with her instead of steadfast response on what was happening and what was going to happen. Also, the cop put his own cell phone in her purse. Granted, her behavior was enough to make anyone get flustered, so I'll give the cops a C. Could have been better, but it works. It is good to be back. Been a few wild weeks here what with the winter storm and playing a severe game of catch up, but things are settling down and I can say we got through it without too many issues. So the brightest of the bunch, a new auditor from New Mexico decided to go to the Pueblo of Isleta, a tribal law jurisdiction, and attempt to audit a police department. As he was filming outside, the police approach, and his arguments fall flat, ending in a detainment and trespass. The tribal law in this area does not allow for him to film, regardless of his belief that he is a member of the press. They had the authority to ask him to delete the pictures as it is within their land and constitution all while he does his best Randy Marsh impersonation yelling "This is America." As per the usual, his lack of understanding and common decency leads him on a path we've all seen: use a camera to pretend the camera is the real focus, absolve himself with no real backing that his actions were correct even if he is doing something unlawful, scream unconstitutionality at anyone within earshot, and be loud so he can hear himself speak and remove opportunities for him to be found as a fraud within the eyes of the law. If there is anything this guy can teach us, it is that we do not have to be obnoxious when we believe we're doing something for the betterment of the world and the people in it. We can take others into consideration when we take actions in public and take responsibility for issues that we create. And for all of the talk about educating himself on his rights, we can seek to educate ourselves in a broader way, not so narrow to only the parts we want to believe. Thanks again for stopping by.
