The Vice President Jessica Alupo has urged men and women to work together in promoting family values for the betterment of society.
She was chief guest at the fundraising drive of Kitojo Primary School in Rwampara district. She thanked the area Woman Member of Parliament Molly Asiimwe Musiime for the invite
The Vice President thanked the leaders for implementing the Parish Development Model and urged them to utilize President Museveni offer on the 2 year PDM repayment plan.
Alupo contributed UGX20M to the school fundraising drive and also pledged UGX15m to the different women groups. She later auctioned a heifer with a starting price of UGX10m. Over UGX70M was raised.

The Bamasaba in the diaspora have been implored to always prioritize investing back home for the development of the Bugisu sub-region.
During this year's Kadodi Karnival that was held at Lugogo based UMA showground, amidst chants to preserve the Bamasaba culture, the need for the Bamasaba to unite and development Bugisu reigned supreme
The Bamasaba people residing outside Bugisu sub-region have successfully held a second edition of Kadodi Karnival.
On arrival at Lugogo UMA showground, one was required to buy a banana leaf which would be instrumental in making a wrapper while dancing
Drum beats from three different groups formed the heavy ambience, attracting revelers to showcase their dancing capabilities
On the sidelines, these ladies were spot on to serve whoever felt like tasting the Bamasaba local brew known as kamalwa
And there was a spot for food were people got a chance to taste the famous Kamalewa.
Exhausted and worn out, some revelers were seen sitting while tapping into the entertainment from the seemingly strong lads
And on how such arrangements can benefit Bugisu sub-region, Jabi one of the organizers minced no words to invite those in the diaspora to invest back home.
This call was re-echoed by members from the Inzu ya Masaba cultural institution.
Meanwhile, the Karnival hosted other games like Sac racing and the tag of war between the Bamasaba and their well-wishers
With this, the organizers say, their objective of uniting Bamasaba as well as rekindling their spirit to cherish who they are was achieved.

President Museveni has assured the people of Obongi district that their area will soon get electricity and will also be linked with the rest of Uganda through a good road network.
The President who was concluding his 3-day Tour of West Nile sub-region to popularize the Wealth Creation program made the remarks while addressing a public rally at Obongi District Headquarters grounds where he also on arrival commissioned Obongi District Local Government Council Hall.
The President explained to the gathering why it has taken so long to connect Obongi to the national power grid.
He said a temporary solution was therefore sought and that was to develop Nyagak power station that will generate 2 MW and will be operational by November 2023 ending the long darkness that has been experienced by the people of the area.
