There’s all kinds of deceptive miracles, signs, and marvels. Our Lord warns: Matthew 24:11 …many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. We see a spirit of deception. 2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed… 9 Even him (the Antichrist), whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. The Antichrist will exercise global control. There’s increasing mass surveillance, smart devices, facial recognition. We're being listened to, watched, tracked, hacked, followed, mapped. 2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. It seems some preachers dwell on foolish stories, and fictions. Our Lord warns of deception and counterfeits. Matthew 24:4 Take heed that no man deceive you! 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences… We are on the brink of a world war. We face "the worst food crisis in modern history". The Rockefeller Foundation controls the seeds of 95% of global cereal crops. Countless farms are being shut down to save us from climate change. We have pestilences – epidemics - horrendous plagues. The WHO warns of drug-resistant germs: “...a post-antibiotic era, in which many common infections will no longer have a cure and, once again, [will] kill unabated.” Another sign: 9 …ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Right now over 360 million Christians are suffering persecution. We are told of powerful signs and wonders. The stage is being set for the Antichrist. Australia is facing God's judgment... We see increasing immorality - Corruption, violence, and a rejection of God, as in Noah's day. Entertainment is full of obscenities and godlessness. The Cambridge Dictionary now defines 'Man' and 'Woman' to suit transgender views. Around 100,000 abortions occur in Australia each year. We have increasing access to euthanasia. More than 10,000 people are killed by euthanasia in Canada every year. There’s a rising of a World Government - a New World Order. There’s plans of "hackable humans." - "We can pick up and decode faces that you're seeing in your mind -- simple shapes, numbers, your PIN number to your bank account." The Bible tells of a coming One World Government System (Rev. 13:1-8). Total world control. We have had covid lockdowns. Get ready for climate lockdowns. The Bible describes: a One World Economy, a One World Religious System. The Beast's 666 system will mandate a mark system. There’s already biochips, planted in people’s skin. Our activities are to be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We see "United Religions" - a worldwide UN interfaith network. It seems like our modern culture has a tolerance for everyone but Christians. The church has become consumer-friendly, yet spiritually bankrupt. Preparations are under way for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. The temple’s vessels and priestly clothing are being prepared, right now. Australia is racing to judgment. The Lord’s return is promised 300 times. 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. When you need help, you have a Comforter: The God of All Comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Comfort means "a calling alongside". A comforter is one who comes to your side, shares the burden, and helps lift the load you carry. Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... He carries our sorrows, our Wounds, Loneliness, Worry, Fears, Sorrow, and Hurt. God is there for us. He feels FOR us. He feels WITH us. He cares about people who are hurting. His arm can support us. God Comforts us by... His Holy Spirit. Acts 9:31 ...the comfort of the Holy Ghost... The Lord Jesus refers four times to the Spirit as “The Comforter”. He’s a living Person Who takes our cares, our doubts… He says, John 14:18, I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. He tells us: I won’t leave you on your own. I won’t abandon you. I will protect and fight for you. Our "Comforter" will relieve us in time of distress or grief, will ease our pain - our sorrow, will support and encourage us. God comforts us by the Holy Scriptures. Romans 15:4 By the comfort of the scriptures we have hope. The Bible is filled with words that can bring encouragement and build us up. 2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises... We can turn to these pages and get a faith lift, find purpose, and gain strength. God brings comfort, through Bible verses; the many precious promises - such as , such as Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. The greatest power known to man is the gospel - salvation power. Romans 1:15-17, So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. (16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. The Gospel is the power of God that saves the soul. Paul said he was ready to preach the gospel – to "evangelise", to give the gospel news to others. If the church won’t evangelise it will fossilise. First, let us be prepared… V. 15 …I am ready to preach the gospel… It has the sense of being willing and eager. The Gospel - or the evangel - means the Good news – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 …how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day… Are we ready to share what God has done for our soul? Paul tells us to wear battle boots… Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. We are called to readiness. To preparation. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. Be ready. Ever ready. Always ready. We must take the Gospel outside the walls. Some practical ways to prepare… • Pray. • Get the right attitude. • Have a "winsome" attitude - in other words: be cheery, pleasant, personable, gracious, engaging. • Evangelism is not about winning an argument but winning souls. • Know key Bible verses. Memorise. • Have gospel tracts handy. • Have a Bible. • Presentation. • Breath. Judgment looms. 2 Corinthians 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men… Secondly, Paul had a passion for the gospel. Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel. Our motive is love, the love of the Saviour and a love for souls. 2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us… We have need of a passion for the gospel. A compassion for the lost. Jude 1:22-23 And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire… I like the analogy here of a rescue worker. Dragging people from a burning building. Paul was consumed by an eager desire… Paul was not ashamed. This is desperate work. Urgent work.
