The pi-hole project: updating the software and evaluating the results.
Each week I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I look at a previous project where I use a cheap Orange Pi to make a local adblocker for my network.
Each week I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I'm "incentivised" by a long term collaborator to light up a stairwell so of course I over-engineer a solution using an LED strip, newly arrived Hall Effect sensors and a Passive Infrared Sensor. The whole project is driven by my favourite μC, the ATTiny13.

Each week I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I look at using a cheap as chips ESP8266 (ESP-01 version) as a WiFi extender around the property...AND I re-program it wirelessly over the network!
Apologies to those who saw this a few weeks ago - once again I pressed the "wrong" button for release.

Each week I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I look at scattering LED lights inside a crystal vase to make a more realistic "dancing" fake candle.

Each video I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I look at a old/new addition to the lab - a lovely analog CRO oscilloscope. One day I might even learn how to drive it properly!

Each week I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I want to use a CD4093 to make an AC mains detector, but become thwarted by a dodgy online circuit, so the detector is re-imagined with a CD4017 decade counter (again!) and eventually seems to work fine. For all the deets see the links below.

Each week I will grab a random electronic component from the vault and build a circuit - this week I use a HT7850 regulator to first set a linear 5V from another source, then finally to partially tame a joule thief QX5252 circuit and....blink an LED (of course).
