Countdown was the most popular music program in Australian TV history. It was broadcast nationwide on Australia's state owned broadcaster and commanded a huge and loyal audience. Countdown was produced at the studios of the ABC in the Melbourne suburb of Ripponlea. It had 14 series and 563 episodes.
This is rerun on ABC program called: Rage. Rage is an all-night Australian music video program broadcast on ABC on Friday nights, Saturday mornings and Saturday nights, in one calendar month of the year.

Limahl wound up roughing it with a random bunch of celebrities (all recorded in Australia): the best known being Dr Who star Tom Baker, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, British former professional boxer David Haye or another British former sport professional - ranked World No. 1 darts player Eric Bristow. With the last one they already both met in another show: "The Weakest Link" in 2003 (on my playlist as well). He was ranked World No. 1
Limahl was a bit mistreated by other contestants on that show, so the whole experience was a bit tough for him, even he was generously paid for taking part in it.
In 2016 Limahl giving interview to News Corp Australia Network said about show :
“It was horrible,” he says. “You’re thrown in with a bunch of strangers and all their baggage. I wasn’t comfortable, you’ve got cameras in your face the whole time, I looked absolutely awful. I like a hair dryer and some (hair) product. But I knew I’d have to give all that up, so I did the best I could. You’re starving, you’re thirsty, you’re under stress. Why would anyone want to put themselves through that?”

Get Set was a children's television series broadcast on BBC1 from 1981 until 1986. It was started as Get Set for Summer, then it was Get Set and re-branded as The Get Set Picture Show in second part of 1983, and successively The Saturday Picture Show from 1984 till 1986. Comprised of cartoons, competitions, music, and ideas on what to do and where to go during the school summer holidays. Get Set for Summer was fronted by then Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell and Mark Curry who was later to become a Blue Peter presenter. Mark was joined by Deborah Appleby for Get Set which shared the summer of 1983 with the Get Set Picture Show. The show had 4 series and 46 episodes, all was produced by BBC's North West studios in Manchester.

Die Spielbude (translation: playhouse) was TV entertainment series for children run from 1982-1989. It offered a colorful mix of music, shows, attractions, children's talk and hobbies. Recorded in Hamburg.
Limahl and Kajagoogoo appeared few times in die Spielbude, all are on my playlist.

I'm sure most of Limahl's fans know very well this name- Mandy Newton, singer. From the end of 1983 until beginning of 1985 when you see anywhere performing Limahl, most likely you see Mandy Newton next to him, as a back-up singer. It was a great duet, everyone loved that, despite most of times she just lip syncs Beth Andersen's lyrics. I'm not sure exactly what happened after 1985, she no more performing with Limahl. I believe there was some misunderstanding between those two (if you search tabloids archives you can find some info) and they split. That doesn't change she was great.
I decided to check up if I can find anything about what is Mandy today up to- found very little. We can see she is fine and doing very well, still great voice and didn't change much.
By the way, after watching video I guess we can confirms: Orange Is the New Black. Why not?

Razzmatazz was a music-based children's television programme that ran on ITV between 2 June 1981 and 2 January 1987. The show featured the latest pop acts performing their current single, interspersed with games and other items such as cooking. The show was recorded in Newcastle with the audience largely made up of pupils from nearby schools.
The interview comes from segment of program called "Razz Planet Rock".

ComeBack - die Große Chance (translation: The big chance) was a TV show that was broadcast on ProSieben in 2004. It was moderated by Arabella Kiesbauer. The show consisted of ten episodes with a total duration of about two hours each. The aim of the show was to find an artist who should then have a comeback. The participants were artists who had previous successes in the charts , but had no major success for a long time immediately before the show. The candidates were: Benjamin Boyce, Chris Norman, CC Catch, Coolio, Haddaway, Limahl, Emilia, Jazzy and Markus , as well as the Weather Girls, who prevailed against Jürgen Drews and Gunter Gabriel in the first edition. The participants came to live before an audience and the jury. In the first show, they each interpreted their biggest hit. This was followed by motto shows in which other titles were sung. At the end of the show, one participant was eliminated through the audience voting.
In this episode Limahl interpreted the song of Elton John: Can You Feel the Love Tonight (1994). This performance is considered as his most successful one in the whole show. Even there were some problems with music at the beginning, the rest gone smoothly. His interpretation convinced jury and audience as well. Limahl got into the 2nd place. He dedicated the song to his parents- especially to his father (which he lost 6 months earlier due to cancer).

The Flexi-Disc (also known as a phonosheet, Sonosheet or Soundsheet) is a phonograph record made of a thin, flexible vinyl sheet with a molded-in spiral stylus groove. They were introduced in 1962 and were popular as attachment to magazines. This particular one was made by British record manufacturing company located in London, specialising in Flexi Discs.
