Amazing Grace Performance | Academy A Cappella
To the SMAC campers: A video mix of the last rehearsal in Recital Hall, the dress rehearsal in the DHA, and the performance. This audio is the actual performance audio captured by the phone! I didn't use the studio version at all. Unbelievable. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

INFO: I had the honor of joining the faculty of Summer Music Academy held at Pensacola Christian College. There was enough interest to launch an a cappella group. So I went home and wrote an arrangement of AMAZING GRACE which includes a new melody. We practiced in between people's lessons and rehearsals, and put this together in time for the Gala concert.
The DHA had a lot more people in it than it looks; they were centered more and you can only see the far side which didn't have a lot of people. But there were a lot of parents, grandparents, other relatives and friends, as well as just community people who wanted to hear a great concert!
We also recorded as many singers as we could, and I'll be releasing a studio version of the song after I finish mixing and mastering it. But for now, enjoy the sounds of the group as it sounded live!

I'm so happy to bring this video to you! @Natalie Raynes Music plays the piano on this classic John W. Peterson gospel song. She played her part straight through, and I decided to do my part all in one take so it would feel more "live." So I listened to her accompaniment once, and then sang it through on camera. I'm so pleased with the result! My son Brandon did the great job on the video edit.

A long-time employee of Pensacola Christian College, he was known for his ministry spirit and his contagious enthusiasm. His passion to encourage young people to attend a Christian college and serve the Lord positively influenced thousands of lives.
He was my first introduction to PCC, and it didn't take long for his sweet spirit and sense of humor to "sync up" with our family. I wrote this song the very Monday night that I read he had graduated to glory and sent it to the family soon afterward. I'm honored to have known him.
I desire the best for his family: Renee, Kyle, Cody, Kaylie, Chloe, and of course extended family and friends.
