It’s Christmas and I got the H66 drone from JJRC. This is a nice little Christmas egg drone that should be able to set the mood. Taking a closer look at the box reveals the following key features in this JRCC H66 Review. Foldable arms, WIFI, FPV, Headless mode & Altitude hold. To utilize the FPV mode you need to connect to through your smartphone. ============================================ - Pick Up your Christmas Egg here - JJRC H66: https://goo.gl/4LB8HB Banggood Christmas Sale: https://goo.gl/dUhPD2 ============================================ Taking a closer look at JJRC H66 it reveals the arms pop out by pressing the bottom button. You power on the drone by pressing the button on the top next to the charging port. The drone battery is not exchangeable so you will have to wait 45min in between each flight. The gravity remote needs 2x AAA batteries to work, they are not included in the box. How to fire up JRCC- H66 1.Turn on remote 2. Turn on drone 3. Flick the joystick up 4. Press the calibration key 5. Flick the joystick down 6. Press the joystick once to start the engine 7. Push the throttle forward to lift off. Do not skip the calibration and be aware it has altitude hold, so you should not touch the joystick once it has reached the desired height. It’s pretty easy to control it with the gravity remote. You need to hook up your phone to use the FPV mode. There is an app for both iOS and Android. This App has digital sticks and trims and a lot of other buttons to push. The most important ones are the takeoff and landing, as well as one button reset that recalibrates the sensors in the drone when placed on a level surface. So what do I think about this H66 from JJRC? It’s a funny little toy, that I can easily see bring kids or first-time flier a lot of fun. The overall build quality of the drone seems ok, but a tad to the cheap side. I did not manage to break it, even if I crashed it a few times. That’s good because you will crash in the beginning, as it takes little time to master the gravity remote. The weak point is remote, this one feels really cheap and not very solid. I had problems with buttons on the remote being stuck, especially the one dedicated to an emergency stop. It did not seem to affect the performance of the egg. You get around 5 min flight time, so it’s a bit annoying the battery can’t exchange. The gravity remote is a nice way to control it, but the real power comes when you use the App. With this, you get a fully capable FPV drone, with live video feed and altitude hold for around 30USD.
