Cycling across Canada is a months long adventure. In this video I tell you about the journey from Princeton, British Colombia, to Penticton. The ride goes via the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, also known as the KVR.
The total distance I travelled that day was around 120 kilometres. It was a very tough ride, but there was a reward at the end.

After thinking about it long and hard, I’ve decided to quit making YouTube Shorts.
You may actually thank me for it after hearing about how I was almost about to chop up the amazing drone footage of downtown Edmonton I managed to capture today.
YouTube shorts are a distraction and contrary to popular belief, they are not really monetized.
That is to say, the earnings are negligible. I’m not going to waste my time on this gimmick any longer.
But please do keep watching until you see my footage!!
I mentioned Wirestock in the video. It is a site that allows you to sell photos and video clips
You will find a lot of my drone footage on there.

When you take your bicycle on a major tour, sooner or later something will go wrong with the bike. Your bike mechanics skills don't have to be perfect, but the better you know your bike, the more it will help you get the most out of your tour. I explain some of the ways you can learn about bike mechanics, one of which is overhauling and adapting your own vintage mountain bike for touring. Mexico has amazing landscapes. My bicycle tour took me inlands for a two week circle tour before I wanted to be back in Veracruz. In this episode I tell you about my second attempt to climb the mountains from Xalapa to the town of Perote and eventually beyond. Few tourists ever make it to San Salvador El Seco, which is where I experienced equipment failure, Mexican beer and almost a threesome. You can also read about it in my book, "Destinations are Fake": https://www.amazon.ca/Destinations-are-Fake-Jorg-Schlagheck/dp/099594590X

I knew very little about Colombia and its capital, Bogota and all of it was second hand information. The only way to satisfy my curiosity would be a bicycle tour, so Barbara and I bought some tickets and booked a room.
