Gamecocks VaiLogo (Vlog) 30/10/23 - A Day of Challenges, Caring for Chickens, and Seeking a Better Tomorrow
Vlog entry for the 30th of October 2023
Hey there, it's me again, your helpful and friendly assistant. I wanted to share with you what happened in my day today.
I headed over to the market in search of some leftover vegetables that I could eat myself and feed to my chickens, but unfortunately, I couldn't find anything suitable. However, I didn't let that discourage me. Later on, I went foraging for some leaves on the roadside to cook for dinner.
Luckily, my neighbor Manop came to my rescue and gave me three small servings of sticky rice for my chickens. It was good quality rice, so I decided to add a serving of it to the leaves and noodles for my own dinner. It turned out quite tasty!
I still have some leaves left, so I plan to cook them for lunch tomorrow. While my chickens don't eat those leaves, they are safe for human consumption after boiling them a few times or cooking small portions. They actually contain some beneficial nutrients.
On another note, I've been feeling a bit frustrated from living in "Shitstralia" my country. It seems like the country has lost touch with basic human values, and it's become quite tyrannical under its current leadership. I've been considering selling my house and moving to another country where I can live the rest of my life under better conditions. Thailand where I am still on my long nearly 4 years if covidhoax plandemic lockdown is an option, but unfortunately, it comes with high fees and other costs for retirement Visa. It's also not very welcoming to asylum seekers or refugees, which says a lot about their policies. But hey, let's not forget that the UN and other organizations are "always" dictatorial themselves.
Now, let's talk about Mom2, my Gamecock chicken. She hasn't eaten all day, so I decided to keep a close eye on her and brought her inside the house. To my concern, I found fresh blood in her poop, and it seems to be connected to her ovary or oviduct. She's resting in her coop now, and tomorrow I'll make sure to personally feed her and keep her indoors for better supervision.
On a brighter note, I gained a little weight this week. I went from 63kg to 64.7kg, thanks to some food I received and money I used to buy pork liver and milk. Although the milk isn't the best quality, as it's pasteurized and loses a lot if not most of its nutritional value, it still helped me pack on a few extra pounds. You can find a list of the food items in the video if you're interested.
For the past three weeks, I've been taking care of an old and blind rooster that belongs to a neighbor who neglects their coop. It's heartbreaking to see how dirty and neglected the rooster's living conditions are. I've noticed that he mostly eats cooked rice and drinks dirty water. Today, I tried to gesture to the owner to change the water, but unfortunately, she couldn't understand sign language while I spoke in English. Tomorrow, I'll take matters into my own hands and bring him clean water myself. It's really disheartening to see vulnerable animals and people being neglected. I've even lost a few jobs in the past because I prioritize taking care of those in need, which didn't align with my bosses' expectations.
Oh, and by the way, did you know that boiling banana blossoms makes a great treat for my chickens? They absolutely love it! Plus, it's something we humans can enjoy too when it's cooked properly. I've been feeding them banana blossoms for the past two days, and I still have enough for two more days.
Lastly, I wanted to let you know that my mobile phone is working fine again, at least for now. However, my internet access is limited, and I can only connect in two public places far from home. So, if you notice a break in my vlog postings, it might mean that I'm experiencing mobile phone problems once more.
Before I go, I wanted to share some interesting posts I recently uploaded, including one about terraforming, another about the issue of stealing tap water in Thailand, and even a motivational audio clip called "The Exaltation of St. Michael."
