A Critical Monologue on the schism between the concept that no Arahants will come to Earth until Maitreya the Future Buddha's arrival, but that in Thailand and Sri Lanka, there are many Monks whose followers have claimed them to be Arahants. Many people have a stumbling block with this matter, and this discourse should put it into perspective, as to its importance relating to personal practice (none at all) The point of the talk, is to show how we cannot know much about what goes on outside of ourself, and that the only important thing to focus on, is one's own practice. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXImcdfMkv4

Where Science and Buddhism Meet, there is Nothing Inbetween, except Stillness;
Listening to a discussion between quantum Physicist and the Dalai Lama, and contemplating, it occurred to me, that the discussion is pointless.
Pointless, Because enlightenment, only comes, when all views have been destroyed. All of the arguments which may be scientific, or philosophical, are based in views.
And views, are all erroneous.
It is only with the stealing of the analytical thought process, the stilling of the question, and the extinguishing of the need to know an answer, that brings peace.
Enlightenment comes with the stilling of these questions, not the raising of them

Part one of a rather long talk on the applied methods and processes which compose the eightfold Path. The eight facets of the Arya Maggha, are greatly misunderstood or under understood topic which is one of the most often spoken of, but ironically, least explained in detail facets of Buddhist philosophy.
I apologise that during this talk, I begin to speak of the four Noble truths, but only give a synopsis of the first two of those 4 truths. I shall through conscious decision continue, and finish the remaining two of the four Noble truths, in the second talk. I have a reason for the belatening of the complete explanation of the fpur Noble Truths, for, indeed, the 4th Noble truth is Maggha (Path and Fruits of the Enlightened Ones), and Maggha, is none other, than the eightfold [path itself. Therefore, although complete understanding with insight into the 4 Noble Truths is what consists of the first of the eight facets of the Eightfold Path, and requires me to finish the explanation, in order to manifest the practice of the first of the eight parts of the path of Practice, i must leave the remaining 2 Noble Truths, for the end of the talks,in order to explain that the last of the four truths, is nothing less than the eightfold path.
4 Noble Truths;
Dhukkha - Suffering exists
Samutayaa = All things are subject to impermanence, and have both a beginning, and an end. Suffering, and even Wrong View, with thus also one day meet its end. If Dhukkha/Suffering exists, then an end to suffering exists
3. Nirodha - If there is an end to Suffering, then, there must also exist the end of that Suffering. The end of suffering is Nirodha - the state of renunciation of sensual or worldly temporal pleasures, fleeting fancies, and the turning inwards.
4.Maggha - If there is an end to Suffering, then the way to end that suffering is Maggha (the Noble Eightfold Path)

This Extremely Useful talk from Ajarn Thanissaro Bhikkhu (see http://www.dhammatalks.org), which i name as "Dealing with Anxiety Using Kayanupassana Sathipatana Mindfulness of Breath", is actually just called 'Anxiety' and is a wonderful teaching by Thanissaro Bhikkhu, who also explains the neurological and physical aspects of emotional and mental stress, as a chemical physical process, which can be reverse engineered, through using Mindfulness of the Breath (Anapanasati, constant anchor to use to Sustain Mindfulness, through all 4 Sathipatana Practices). Many Neurologists and Psychologists who deal with PTSD and Anxiety, know about the Physical Influence Anxiety Thoughts can trigger within the Body through Perception and Consciousness, and the Senses, and the Conditioned Thought Associations we Cling To when having a Panic Attack, Anxiety, or Post trauma Depression Syndrome... Dhamma and Mind Science are one and the same. Recommended both for Practitioners of the 4 Sathipathana/Vipassana Mindfulness, as well as for those with PTSD and Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Depression.
