Good morning, everyone! The title of Day 5 of RLCC Daily Devo is: "Staying Focused on God's Timing"
Our Scripture passage is: Genesis 16 to 20
Meditation: Deviation from your mission is a constant temptation. Once your mission becomes clear, be aware of the tendency to deviate from it. Stay focused and stay on track in spite of the hindrances. God will help you.
Personal Application: Take a moment to clarify your mission in life, aligning it with God's plan. Recognize that deviations are constant temptations, but commit to staying focused and on track despite challenges. Trust that God will guide you in fulfilling His mission for your life.
Prayer: Lord, help me to clarify and commit to Your mission for my life. I acknowledge the constant temptations to deviate. Grant me the strength and focus to stay on track, knowing that Your guidance and support are with me. In Jesus' name, amen.

Telling Others About Jesus | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
31 Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he taught the people. 32 They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority. 33 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, 34 “Go away! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” 35 “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him. 36 All the people were amazed and said to each other, “What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!” 37 And the news about him spread throughout the surrounding area. (Luke 4:31-37)
There are many problems in the world today. Through television and social media, we get to hear about them and they can easily overwhelm us. But the solution starts with something very simple: Tell people about Jesus. Of course, it doesn't end there. But it should definitely start there. People need to hear about Jesus because He is the hope of the world. But sometimes we are not convinced about this truth.

The Nature of God's Mercy | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. 17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. 19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” 20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use? 22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath — prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory — 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? 25 As he says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” 26 and, “In the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” 27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. 28 For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.” 29 It is just as Isaiah said previously: "Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.” (Romans 9:14-29)
Sometimes people justify themselves by saying "God is merciful." But what they mean is that they can continue living in sin and in the end, the Lord will still be merciful to them. Others use that expression to mean that everyone will be saved eventually because "God is merciful." Either way, it's a misunderstanding of the nature of God's mercy. Mercy is an important attribute of God but we must understand its true nature.

The Means to Go Back | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
It's crucial to always remember the death of Christ on the cross. Thankfully, because we are predominantly a Christian nation, we are reminded of this once a year. But through the years, many people, even Christians, are no longer interested to remember this very important event. They would rather use this occasion to do other things. Of course, there is nothing wrong with doing other things. But if doing other things results in forgetting the significance of the death of Christ on the cross, then maybe we need to pause and consider that.
Join us for our Good Friday Online Worship Celebration as we remember the true meaning of the Cross. We will also have our Lord's Supper so please prepare your communion elements (bread and juice).

You probably have heard the saying, "You are free to choose but you are not free to choose the consequences." This is especially true when it comes to our choices regarding Jesus. Whether we believe and follow Him or not is our choice. But we cannot escape the consequences if we choose the latter rather than the former.

Sent By Jesus | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. 5 If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” 6 So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere. 7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on. And he was perplexed because some were saying that John had been raised from the dead, 8 others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had come back to life. 9 But Herod said, “I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?” And he tried to see him. (Luke 9:1-9)
Whenever we think of the word "apostle", we only think of the Twelve Apostles. Or maybe we also think about those who have great faith, who are sent out to the jungles of Africa or to the deserts of Arabia, to build thousands of churches or to die for their faith. Seldom do we actually think of the word "apostle" in relation to ourselves? Are we "apostles"? Yes, we are! But with a small "a", of course. The Twelve Apostles are a closed group. But the word 'apostle" with a small "a" is applicable to all of us. The word apostle actually means "one who is sent out". We are, of course, sent out by the Lord Jesus into all the world (Matt 28:19-20).

Making Plans with God's Guidance | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
22 This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you. 23 But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to visit you, 24 I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while. 25 Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the Lord’s people there. 26 For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem. 27 They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings. 28 So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this contribution, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way. 29 I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ. (Romans 15:22-29)
Many Christians today find themselves in wrong situations because they do not listen to the Lord when they make plans. They just make plans and then they ask the Lord to bless their plans. Consequently, God gives them over to their plans, which they are already determined to do regardless of what God says. They do not receive God's guidance because they do not ask for it and they are not willing to listen to Him even if He gives it to them by His grace.
