Many people with diabetes endure multiple, painful finger pricks each day to measure their blood glucose. Now, researchers reporting in the journal ACS Sensors have developed a device that can measure glucose in sweat with the touch of a fingertip, and then a personalized algorithm provides an accurate estimate of blood glucose levels.

Scientists have developed a new solar panel that can generate electricity at night.
Researchers from Stanford University construct a device, which incorporates a thermoelectric generator that harvests electricity from the temperature difference between the PV cell and the ambient surrounding. They achieve 50 mW/m2 nighttime power generation with a clear night sky, with an open-circuit voltage of 100 mV, which is orders of magnitude higher as compared with previous demonstrations.
