In a world clouded by misconceptions about life's purpose, many, regardless of faith, chase personal gains and experiences. Even some who claim to follow Jesus share this mindset, which impacts their choices. Our genuine purpose is clear: reflecting God's image through our lives, bringing Him glory. This sermon unveils the transformative power of aligning with this purpose. Through dedicated application of God's word – our guidebook for righteous living – we radiate His light, illuminating our path to true glory. How can we apply God’s word in our lives and bring glory to God?
Comfort During Persecution | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
13 Lord, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, 14 that I may declare your praises in the gates of Daughter Zion, and there rejoice in your salvation. (Psalm 9:13-14)
Being persecuted is a difficult experience. We experience hostility, harassment, and ill-treatment from others because of our beliefs. They may use verbal abuse or maybe even physical abuse. We may suffer because we choose to stand by our faith. Through intimidation and threats, they do all they can to force us to conform. How can we find comfort during such difficult times?

Time can easily pass us by. Before we know it, a whole morning or afternoon is wasted. What is even more wasteful is when we use the time for worldly purposes, disregarding God's will for us, and pursuing what the world wants us to be and do instead of obeying God. Let us redeem our time and use it wisely to the glory of God.

Often we experience trials and tests right after we have decided to commit ourselves to love and serve the Lord more fully or deeply. This is no accident. The enemy wants to stop us from doing so. He wants to discourage us so that we will give up our initial commitment. Rule 5 and 6 of the Rules of Discernment by Ignatius of Loyola speak about these occasions. Let's reflect on these rules together.

Welcome to Day 2 of RLCC Daily Devo. The title of our devotional today is - "Dealing with Relational Conflicts"
Scripture Passage: Genesis 13:1-18
Meditation: In Genesis 13:1-18, we see a conflict arise between Abraham's herdsmen and Lot's herdsmen. Abraham's response was one of peace and reconciliation. He needed to learn this as part of his preparation for his mission.
Personal Application: Today, consider any conflicts or misunderstandings you may have with others. Reflect on how you can approach these situations with a heart of peace and reconciliation as part of your mission preparation.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the wisdom to handle relational conflicts with grace and humility. Help me seek peace and reconciliation in my relationships. In Jesus' name, amen.

14 I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another. 15 Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. 18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19 by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. 20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” (Romans 15:14-21)
Every Christian is called to some kind of ministry. Each of us is to serve the Lord according to the gifts that God has entrusted to us. Not serving in ministry is tantamount to rejecting God's will for us. It may take a while before we can find the right ministry for us, but we must begin where we are. More importantly, we must have the right perspectives in ministry. Serving the Lord is not as important as knowing why we are doing so in the first place.

Reasons for True Worship | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Text: Psalm 33:1-22
Worship is very important in the Christian life. But what is even more important are the reasons why we are doing it. Some Christians love to worship because of the feelings they get out of it. They love the music and the ambiance of a "worship event". But true worship must have its reasons and those reasons must be valid both biblically and personally. Only when we know why we are worshiping the Lord can we truly say that we are worshiping Him in spirit and truth.

The Limits of Our Strength | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. 13 Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me. 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. 15 My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. 16 Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. 17 All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment. (Psalm 22:12-18)
By nature, we all tend to rely on our capabilities to navigate the many challenges in our lives. We often believe that we are strong enough and wise enough to overcome. But then we find ourselves in situations that are beyond our capacities. God allows this by His grace so that we will recognize our need for Him.

Do you feel that you are not growing spiritually? Is your heart restless, worried, or anxious? Are you having all kinds of relational problems at home or at work? Are you barely just holding on to each day hoping that you will survive until the weekend? Do you have a hard time sleeping? Does your idea of rest mean you have to go to a faraway beach just to chill out and forget all your problems? Are you over-eating, playing too many games, or binge-watching too many Netflix movies or K-dramas? If any of these statements are true of you, you're probably grace-deficient. One of the ways we can receive grace is by immersing ourselves in the Holy Scriptures. But how do we do that?
