RT interviews Bashar Al Assad, the democratically elected president of the Syrian people, after the liberation of Eastern Aleppo from the IS jihadist terrorists by the Syrian Arab Army - with crucial support from Russia and Iran. He points out that the western media and political response - the cries about 'human rights' (so neglected while this war has been waged upon the Syrian people and government for the last 6 years, displacing some 10 million Syrians!), of 'destruction of heritage', etc. - are solely due to the fact that these defeataed terrorists are in fact proxies of the western imperialist powers (US, UK, France, NATO and their regional proxies), used in place of direct armies of internvetion, in order to destabilise and balkanise the Syrian nation, as part of their global agenda of domination. Syria is one of the few countries in the middle east to have an independent policy and not allow US bases and military personel to manouvre freely. Dr Assad points out that since the collapse of the Soviet Union, US hegemony has been unchecked, and their flagrant violation of the rights of small countries has been a fact of life not only for the Syrian people, but the entire world. This has been the case before this war, he says, and in this regard he welcomes the rise of a strong Russia and emerging China as global forces capable of counterbalancing the aggressive imperialism of the US. All small countries welcome this, he says. Dr Assad is asked about the significance of Trump's electoral victory and makes the factually unassailable observation that it is a result of the US populations's recognition that the mainstream media and political establishment feeds them a continual stream of lies. He also says that Trump is less of a hawk than Hillary, although questions his ability to change the direction of US foreign policy from one of outright global war for domination to peaceful coexistence. If the BBC was truly 'impartial and objective', as it so frequently and aggressively asserts, it would air this interview; it would commission its own similar interviews. But of course, as every group that comes into conflict with the British capitalist class, their parliament, their police, their judiciary or any branch of the British state realises, the BBC is the Propaganda arm of British imperialism, no more and no less.
