EXCLUSIVE!: 2017 Schindler 5500 MRL Traction Service Elevator at The Hub at Waverly (Charlotte, NC)
Seperate from the main 2 5500's is this service elevator. It is virtually the same, except for the larger size and having 2 doors. It also runs really smooth!

TJElevatorFan filmed this almost 12 years ago (when March comes), how is it doing now? Well, besides the Arrow missing on the 1st Floor Call Panel and the Dover Buzz being disabled, this is almost exactly how it was back then! The elevator is unsuaully dark, but that and the basic wooden cab design with the carpet kinda provides a cozy feeling. It runs pretty well too.

Here is a newer building with a typical New Otis.
Yet again, another bland elevator with at least a very nice cab design. Too bad it's a bland and questionable 2 Story Tract. It would've been much more interesting if it was a HydroShit than a Squeaky GenPoo.

NOTICE: Though there is no front desk here, there are a lot of employees and possible guards here, so be here at your own risk. I went in via the "man powered elevator". ;-)
Now then, this is a place I REALLY wanted to see for months. I meant to come here the 1st Day Trip, but I unknowingly passed by this place (plus it was almost 5 PM), so I was bummed when I did realize what I missed. Though the 2nd time, I guaranteed myself I would get to these.
These are only my 2nd 5500's that I have seen! These are super rare Schindler 5500's with the PORT DD system! It is super rare to find fresh elevator installs with DD systems implemented, as that is more common with mods than fresh installs. The PORT Screens are interesting as each floor only has a select few floors to choose from, but on the top floor, you can access all other floors minus the 4th floor (which I assume are all abandoned as of now, excluding 3). The PORT system with this set seems neat and even Handicap Mode is faster than usual (still a drag for the 11th floor, but definitely better than usual). The PORT Chimes/Voices and Schindler 5500 voices only work when Handicap Mode is working.
As for the elevators, THEY ARE AMAZING! For the most part, these run super smooth and super quick! I think the cab designs could be a bit more interesting, but ehh, minor nitpick. Definitely worth checking out if you can find your way in.

This is all the way at the tail end of the section with Gates A21-29. Unfortunately, I did not have time to see the overfilmed Schindler 5500 and I don't know when I'll be back here. If I sound dead or confused, remember I filmed this at 4 AM.
Anyway, here is a cool looking but kinda basic MEI. The only thing really neat is that it is mostly glass and has a Standing COP. Besides that, it has Bleh Innovation Fixtures.

While this is being uploaded later this week on YT, I'll give my Odysee viewers a slight early access of this video.
You are probably wondering why I filmed this stupid thing again, especially since it modded an Elevonic 411 with Series 1. Well, I decided to film it again since for this reason, all Floors were unlocked and I could go to the Top Floor of the Jackson Building. Doesn't feel as fun to ride though compared to other elevators down here, but it's an interesting experience. My opinions are still the same as before though.

Despite being a year since I last filmed this, it's pretty much the same. The Elevator still has its original Fixtures from when it was put in around 2000. Considering this mall was built in 1978, it probably replaced an Old Otis Elevator or something like that, but I'm not so entirely sure yet.
What's interesting about this Kone (Canton) is the choice of the Plain White GAL JetPlus Fixtures, which is rare for a Kone! Not only that, it has one of the stankiest motors ever! It's pretty cool and funny at the same time. It's hard to describe the sound, like it's a hybrid of a FogHorn and Didgeridoo Noises. I really like this lift, although the lifting is a bit jolty sometimes.

Okay, a lot of people have ridden this including DieselDucy, but let's be real here, no on has ridden this at all recently, even some of the recent visitors to the Asheville area forgot this gem existed. It's been since 2018 since anyone has documented this cab, so it's my turn!
Okay, what else should I add to this cab that everyone hasn't said already? Not much really. I mean the cab design is a bit on the basic side, yeah, but that's pretty much for the best I guess. Oh well.
Okay, now for the obvious stuff, THIS CAB IS WAY PAST EPIMAZING!!!!! This is my first gated cab and I'm thrilled this is the first one I've ridden! The gate is automatic, which means it closes and opens based on operations from the Main Panel, however it's a bit violent with closing. Despite that, the fixtures are beautiful and still original! The cab runs perfectly for its age, which is rather surprising! This is definitely a cab I'll be constantly visiting from time to time for the 2 years I'm up near it! What an absolute treasure this cab is! I hope people will never forget this cab and should come ride it themselves!

Basic 2 Story Cab, runs fine, still better than a Schindler HT. I dunno what else to say, this is pretty simplistic as always.

This is the scenic Elevator of the Atrium part. Filming this was the biggest pain in the ass because you had people constantly riding this, which makes me wonder why they didn't put in two elevators? Oh well.
This is definitely one of the best running elevators here as it runs smooth as butter. The scenic part is very cool too, however one of the buttons is a bit glitchy and the layout in general is confusing. I did get some bonus takes of the elevator going up and down on the outside!
